Russian trademark application process?

1. Submit an application: The Russian Intellectual Property Office first determines the qualifications of the applicant and application documents. It should be noted that this is all due to regulations. The Russian trademark applicant must be a legal person or an individual industrial and commercial household, and cannot be a natural person.

2. Formal review: a review of the submitted application documents, trademark drawings, power of attorney and other documents after the application is submitted. The formal review takes approximately 1-2 months.

3. Substantive examination: Examine whether the trademark is registrable in accordance with the trademark law, whether it is identical or similar to a previously registered trademark, and whether it violates the prohibition provisions of the trademark law.

For trademarks that do not pass the substantive examination, they will be rejected and the reasons for rejection will be notified. The applicant may submit a review within the time limit from the date of receipt of the rejection notice, otherwise the trademark application will be deemed abandoned.

4. Approval of registration: Based on the trademark registration decision, registration in the Russian Trademark Union’s trademark and service mark register will be completed within 1 month of receipt of the fee payment document, and a trademark registration certificate will be issued as required. Three months.

5. Announcement: According to Article 14 of the Russian Trademark Law, trademark registration or changes to registered trademarks should be announced immediately in the official announcement.
