Process of Licensed Trademark Registration

About one month after submitting the application, the Trademark Office will issue a "Notice of Acceptance of the Registration of Trademark Licensing Contract". In about three months, the trademark licensing contract filing was completed, and the Trademark Office issued the Trademark Licensing Contract Filing Letter.

Trademark license contract filing means that a trademark registrant can sign a trademark license contract to license others to use its registered trademark. The licensor shall supervise the quality of the goods used by the licensee using its registered trademark. The licensee shall ensure the quality of the goods using the registered trademark. If the registered trademark of another person is used with permission, the name of the licensee and the place of origin of the goods must be marked on the goods using the registered trademark. When licensing others to use its registered trademark, the licensor shall submit a copy of the contract to the Trademark Office for record within 3 months from the date of signing the trademark license contract.

To handle the filing of a trademark license contract, you can entrust a trademark agency to handle it, or the licensor can apply directly to the trademark.

When filing a trademark license contract, you need to prepare a "License Use Contract"; identity documents of both parties to the license (a copy of the business license or a copy of the personal ID card); a copy of the trademark registration certificate; "Trademark License Use" Contract Application". If you entrust an agency to apply, you also need to submit a "Letter of Power of Attorney".
