Wu Yisun was born in Shuangfengfang, Gulang, Xingtan. He is the founder of Hong Kong Wing Lung Bank Co., Ltd. and an honorary citizen of Shunde City.

Wu Yisun’s grandfather, Mr. Wu Yikang, established Zhaolong Bank in Guangzhou in his early years and became famous far and wide. Later, due to chaos and natural disasters, the family gradually declined. Wu Yisun experienced hardships in his childhood. Although he was very talented, his family was poor and he dropped out of school. He went to work at Tai Lai Bank in Hong Kong when he was only 14 years old. Without any support or support, I could only start as a handyman. Wu Yisun Ya is diligent and cautious, works hard and does not complain, and tempers himself in a difficult environment. He is humble and diligent, and he learned how to do business amidst tedious chores. He was deeply appreciated by his boss Wu Jiming and received many guidance. He became the boss's deputy at the age of 20. In 1933, with the trust and support of many friends, he raised 44,500 yuan and founded Wing Lung Bank in Bonham Street East, Hong Kong. In the first year after starting the business, he made a profit of more than 9,000 yuan.

In the early 1930s, the Guangdong-Hankong Railway was opened to traffic. Wu Yisun believed that after the north-south transportation became smoother, Hong Kong would become the trade center of South China, and many businessmen from other provinces would come to do business, so he hired someone to teach shop assistants how to learn Mandarin. After the Anti-Japanese War in 1937, a large number of people from various provinces came south to do business. Because the colleagues of Wing Lung Bank could speak Mandarin, they attracted people from other provinces to come and visit us, and business increased significantly. In the following decades of business operations, Wu Yisun followed the motto of "never forget stability in development, and must be loyal in service" and determined to expand. Although he experienced the Anti-Japanese War, the domestic revolutionary war, and multiple bank run crises in Hong Kong, Wing Lung Bank has always had a solid foundation and continues to grow and develop. It was registered as a limited company in 1956, with Wu Yisun as chairman. It was renamed a bank in 1960 and became a listed company in 1980. Wing Lung Bank has gone through more than 60 years of arduous journey and stands tall in Hong Kong, the world's financial center. By 1997, in addition to the head office, Wing Lung Bank had 34 branches in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories, a representative office in Guangzhou, and branches in the United States and the Cayman Islands. In addition to general banking business, Wing Lung Bank also operates insurance, trusts, credit cards, corporate loans, securities and futures trading, foreign currency and stock securities trading, arranges and participates in syndicated loans, and sells trust funds on behalf of Hong Kong.
