Then what is code skipping? In fact, code hopping is stealing merchants, so why is it called code hopping? That's because the user's credit card information is presented to the UnionPay settlement center through a series of 15-digit codes. UnionPay settlement also relies on this 15 code for settlement and profit distribution. The following figure
The significance of 15 digital code generation
The MCC code in the above figure is the merchant type code. The People's Bank of China classifies merchants into three categories: standard category, 0.6% preferential rate category, 0.38% public welfare category and 0 rate category.
For example, if the rate of your POS machine is 0.6, after deducting the normal consumption, the payment company and the agent will get about 10 yuan. If they get the discount of code skipping, they can get around 30 yuan. The probability of merchants is fixed. If the payment company takes more, the bank will definitely take less.
But the money we spend is from the bank, so people must take the most, because the bank's money also has a cost! If the bank can't make money for a long time, why should your credit card bank let you use it?
The simple understanding is that code skipping is for illegal profit.
