Anyang, referred to as Yin or Ye, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Henan Province. It is located in the northernmost part of Henan Province, at the intersection of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan provinces. It is adjacent to the Taihang Mountains to the west, the North China Plain to the east, Handan to the north and Handan to the south. Hebi, Xinxiang.

Anyang is one of the eight ancient capitals in China, a national historical and cultural city, and one of the centers of Chinese civilization. The Simuwu Dafang Ding, the world's largest bronze ware, was unearthed in Anyang, and was proven to be the earliest written text used by Chinese civilization. Anyang Yin Ruins is recognized by the world as the earliest capital site of the Shang Dynasty that can be identified in China today. It is known as the "Imperial Capital of Huanshui", "Old Capital of Yin Shang" and "City of Letters".
