The difference between debit cards and credit cards
1. Different appearances
Credit card numbers are usually embossed, while debit card numbers are usually printed flat.
1. The expiry date and the pinyin of the cardholder’s name are printed on the front of the credit card, but not on the debit card.
2. Credit cards have a 7-digit number printed on the back, but debit cards do not.
3. On the back of a credit card, there are words "This card is valid only after signature" or similar words. On the back of a debit card, there are only the words "Signature of the cardholder".
4. Credit cards have laser anti-counterfeiting signatures, while about 90% of debit cards do not have laser anti-counterfeiting signatures.
2. The application conditions are different
1. Applying for a debit card is very simple. As long as you have an ID card, you can go to the bank to apply.
2. Credit cards are different, and not all applications for credit cards can be approved. The bank will evaluate the applicant's comprehensive situation, such as income level, social security, deposits, assets and a series of factors. The main purpose is to confirm that you have the ability to consume and repay, so it is generally difficult to apply for it if you have no financial foundation.
3. Different functions
1. The debit card can be accessed and withdrawn freely. You must deposit before you can spend. The debit card does not have an overdraft function. With a credit card, you can spend in advance and then repay.
2. Credit cards have installment payment function, but debit cards do not.
3. Credit card consumption can accumulate points, which can be redeemed for free goods in the points mall. Debit cards do not have this function.
4. Different natures
1. Credit cards are unsecured and unsecured loans. Debit cards do not.
2. Credit cards are usually short-term, small-amount, non-specified credit, while debit cards can be used anytime.
3. Debit card deposits have interest, but credit cards do not.
