Generally, there must be oil in both oil pipes. One is the oil outlet pipe, which supplies oil to the engine from the oil pump.

The other is the oil return pipe: the excess engine oil flows back to the oil pump and enters the oil tank.

When the oil pump works, there is oil in both oil pipes, which will be very hard if the gasoline pressure in both oil pipes is high.
