First, the card status is abnormal, such as the card being demagnetized or the password being entered incorrectly too many times and being locked.
Second, if there is no problem with the card, it is not good if there is a problem with the TM machine. If it is not connected to the network, the transaction will fail.
Third, if you hold an IC chip credit card, since UnionPay has closed the downgrade transaction function, if you still operate the transaction by swiping the card instead of inserting the card, it will also be unusable.
Fourth, bank cards do not support transactions. For example, VISA single-logo cards/JCB single-logo cards do not support UnionPay transactions, nor do they support some online transactions.
1. The transactions of savings cards (i.e. debit cards) are restricted. The most common reasons are the following three reasons:
1. The information is incomplete and the use is restricted. For example, if the bank card holder's ID card has expired and has not been updated, or the mobile phone number has expired (stopped from use), the use of the debit card will be restricted in some channels. For example, it is not allowed to be used in mobile banking and online banking, and can only be allowed. Use on the counter.
2. The account has risks and is restricted from trading. The bank will conduct a series of monitoring and if it finds that there is a risk in the customer's account, it will take measures to restrict transactions to ensure the safety of the customer's funds. In 2020 and 2021, many bank card accounts have risks involving gambling and fraud, and transactions have been suspended by banks.
3. Enter the wrong password more than 3 times in a row. In order to ensure the safety of funds in customer accounts, banks will restrict transactions on customers' accounts if they enter incorrect passwords three times in a row on self-service machines and electronic banking. At this time, the customer needs to go to the bank branch with his/her identity document to reactivate the password before using the debit card.
2. Situations in which credit card transactions are restricted
A credit card is a card on the surface, but in essence it is a short-term, small-amount financing tool that can be consumed by simply swiping the card. Therefore, banks are also relatively strict in preventing credit card risks. There are four main reasons why credit card transactions are restricted:
1. The transaction amount of a credit card in a certain payment channel has reached the upper limit, and at this time, transactions in this channel are restricted.
2. The customer has set a single transaction limit for the credit card. When the amount of card consumption exceeds the set limit, the use of the credit card will be restricted, and the customer will receive relevant SMS notifications.
3. When using a credit card for consumption, if the bank detects a risky transaction, it will first restrict the transaction, and then contact the customer to confirm whether it is the transaction in person. If it is, the bank will eliminate the risk and cancel the transaction restriction.
4. If the amount of credit card consumption exceeds the available credit limit of the credit card, transactions will be restricted due to insufficient available credit limit.
