How many days can a credit card delay repayment at the latest?
Under normal circumstances, credit cards can delay repayment for 3 days. According to Article 14 of the China Bank Card Industry Self-discipline Convention, member units shall provide time-accommodating services for cardholders and provide them with repayment grace period services for a certain period, and the repayment grace period shall be at least 3 days from the due repayment date. If the cardholder repays within the repayment grace period, it is deemed that the cardholder repays on time.
However, due to the non-mandatory provisions of China Bank Card Industry Self-discipline Convention, some banks do not fully provide a three-day grace period for repayment. For example, Guangfa Bank only provides a repayment grace period of 1 day, Agricultural Bank only provides a repayment grace period of 2 days, China Construction Bank only provides a repayment grace period of 2 days, and Bank of China provides a repayment grace period of 8 days for platinum and above credit cards.
In addition, although some banks offer a repayment period of at least three days, the specific repayment time is different. For example, Bank of Communications requires that the repayment amount be paid before 18:00 on the third day after the due repayment date, China Merchants Bank requires that it be recorded before 24:00 on the third day after the repayment date, and Minsheng Bank requires that it be recorded before 17:00 on the third day after the repayment date.
In the process of using credit cards, users must ensure that their debts are paid off within the last repayment date. If they can't repay the due debts, they should loosen the grace period of the card bank as soon as possible so that repayment within the grace period will not lead to overdue. Once overdue, the consequences will not only be penalty interest and handling fee, but also further affect personal credit.
