Notice on Issuing the Prohibition of Employees' Behavior

The Prohibition Order on Employees' Behavior of China Merchants Bank (hereinafter referred to as the Prohibition Order) is hereby promulgated and shall come into force as of the date of promulgation of this notice. Annexes 3 and 4 shall be abolished at the same time. The relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
1. The Head Office revised the Prohibitive Provisions on the Behavior of Account Managers of China Merchants Bank and the Prohibitive Provisions on the Behavior of Counter Personnel of China Merchants Bank (annexes 3 and 4 of Zhao Yinfa [2007] 146) and formulated the Prohibitive Provisions.
2. The ban consists of five chapters: the first chapter is the general rules, introducing the purpose of the ban and the compliance culture and professional ethics to be advocated; The second chapter is ten basic prohibitions, which are applicable to cadres and employees of the whole bank; The third and fourth chapters are respectively ten prohibitions on the behavior of counter business personnel and ten prohibitions on the behavior of account managers (including product managers, risk managers and loan examiners), which are applicable to cadres and employees in corresponding positions, and should also be applicable to cadres and employees in other positions when related behaviors are involved; The fifth chapter is the supplementary provisions. The subsequent Head Office will supplement and improve the ban in due course according to the adjustment of organizational structure.
Third, all banks (departments) should do a good job in the study and publicity of the Ban, ensure that every cadre and employee is familiar with the Ban, give full play to the guidance and evaluation role of the Ban, avoid cadres and employees touching the "high-voltage line" of management, and effectively curb violations and case risks.
