This depends on the points rules of the two credit cards.

1. If two credit cards are subject to the same points rule, the points can be automatically merged.

2. If the points rules applicable to the two credit cards are different, they cannot be combined. For example, an ordinary credit card and an airline co-branded card. The airline co-branded card’s special points can only be exchanged for airline miles. So it cannot be merged.
