When the credit card expires, the bank will not renew it. One is that it does not meet the conditions for card replacement, and the other is that the cardholder applies for not changing the card. Specifically, there are the following points:
1. Credit cards have never been opened: some credit cards have no activation period, but banks only renew activated credit cards, so if they want to renew their cards, they should be opened at least two months before the expiration, because most banks will issue new cards one month before the expiration.
2. Invalid credit card: for example, the credit card is cancelled by the bank for a long time overdue; Or the bank froze/blocked the credit card and did not resume using it two months before it expired.
3. Credit card upgrade to card transfer: For example, if a gold card is upgraded to a platinum card, the card number, expiration date, security code and other information will change, and a new credit card will be issued, but the old card will not be renewed, and the credit card can be used for the longest period of validity.
4. The cardholder applies for not renewing the card: the cardholder does not intend to continue using the card, but can call the bank customer service hotline to apply for terminating the card, at least two months before the expiration date. After the bank is registered, the card will not be renewed. Credit cards can be used until the maturity date, but it is not necessary to pay off all debts. For example, if there are installments, you can still pay back each installment.
