How to settle the payment with China Merchants Bank card in Macau?

Hello, if you are paying by card at POS in Macau, there is no handling fee.

(1) If you use an ordinary card to make purchases in Macau, you will go through the "UnionPay" system. The foreign currency will be converted into RMB according to the exchange rate of "China UnionPay" at that time for deduction.

(2) If you use a credit card and dual currency card for consumption, there are currently two basic credit card lines in Macau, UnionPay lines and international lines (VISA, MASTERCARD, JCB or American Express, etc.). When the card is swiped on UnionPay lines, Hong Kong dollars will be converted into RMB for settlement according to the exchange rate of "China UnionPay"; when the card is swiped on international lines, the settlement will be in US dollars. Since overseas consumption by credit card will be settled in U.S. dollars, if the consumption amount is non-U.S. dollars, there will be an exchange fee between the two currencies, which is 1.5% of the transaction amount. If the consumption amount is in US dollars, there will be no foreign exchange settlement fee. When making purchases, you can ask the merchant whether there is a UnionPay credit card line to facilitate your choice.
