Is the student card a card for students or a card for students?
According to different classification methods, there are currently the following categories:
Student credit cards
Some banks will launch credit cards for students, but since students do not have the financial With autonomy, the limit provided by the bank will be lower, usually only 20,000 to 50,000 yuan. Students with a fixed income can also prepare proof of income and apply for a higher credit limit from the bank. Students can first use their student cards to establish good credit in banks, and then increase their credit limit and become ordinary cardholders after they leave society.
Student bus card
The bus card for primary and secondary school students is a type of bus card. Considering that students go to school frequently, it is specially designed for students and is cheaper than ordinary bus cards. Generally, you need to apply for it with a student ID card, and an annual inspection is required at the end of each year, otherwise it will be returned to the ordinary bus card.
Student mobile phone cards
For example, M-Zone, Youth Story, etc.
Campus Card
After digital construction, many schools now issue student cards, and money is deposited into the student card, which can be used to pay most or all of the school fees. This kind of student card is equivalent to the bank card on campus, and in practice is often directly related to the student bank card. Because the campus student card is unique to each student, it can be used instead of the student card on campus or in some recognized public places.
Principles for choosing student credit cards
In foreign markets, the student credit card business has matured. Data show that as early as 2002, the proportion of American college students with credit cards was as high as 83%. Now it has grown to 50 universities, with sales revenue of 2 million yuan, and the average bad debt rate remains at a very low level. There are currently 19 million college students in China, and there is huge room for development of the college student credit card market. In recent years, the proportion of cardholders among college students in mainland China has also increased significantly, from 15.1 in 2006 to 24 in 2007. Many domestic banks have launched student credit cards.
In the face of numerous credit cards, credit cards are not “the more the better”, nor are they “useless”. Students should pay attention to the following aspects when choosing a credit card:
(1) Annual fee. Different types of credit cards have different annual fee and annual fee exemption regulations at banks. For ordinary students, it is necessary to understand the annual fee regulations before applying for a credit card.
(2) Credit limit. Banks will indicate the maximum credit limit when promoting credit cards, but the credit limit for ordinary students will not be very high. Of course, generally speaking, the higher the credit limit, the better.
(3) Convenience of repayment. Choose a bank with many branches and automatic deposit machines, or handle related accounts, online repayments, inter-bank transfers, convenience store repayments, etc. Banks with more repayment options are certainly more beneficial to cardholders.
(4) Installment payment. Each bank has different rates, so you can save a lot of money by choosing a bank with lower fees. For example, a trip costs 3,000 yuan. If the loan is repaid in 12 installments, one bank charges a handling fee of 0.5 per installment, and another bank charges a handling fee of 0.72 per installment, then the former requires a handling fee of 180 yuan, and the latter requires a handling fee of 259.2 yuan, a difference of 79.2 yuan between the two.
