Does online credit card payment count as the number of swipes?
Generally, many e-commerce websites access the credit card payment port to pay for banks, which is one of the sources of income for banks. Therefore, most banks regard the number of online payments as the number of credit card swipes, such as China Merchants Bank, Bank of Communications and China CITIC Bank.
However, some banks don't count online payment by credit card as the number of credit card swipes. They only admit to swiping cards offline. Even if you swipe your credit card online, you can't meet the requirement of free annual fee, so you still have to swipe your POS machine offline.
It should be reminded that some banks will not give you points even if they count online payment by credit card as the number of swipes. Unless you get a card similar to Taobao Credit Card and JD.COM Co-branded Card, you will get points for using this card on Taobao and JD.COM. In addition, some banks require that only transactions with points can be counted as the number of swipes. Please consult the credit card issuing bank for details.
How to check the number of credit card swipes?
If you want to know whether the credit card has been swiped enough times to avoid the annual fee, you can inquire in the following ways:
1. Telephone inquiry: directly dial the 24-hour service hotline on the back of the credit card and transfer to manual customer service inquiry;
2. Online inquiry: log in to the credit card official website, find out your issued bills and outstanding bills, and add up all the credit card swipes in it to know the total number of credit card swipes.
