Cardholders who have obtained the ICBC Peony Provident Fund Card need to activate it before they can use it. Let’s take a look at the activation method below.
1. ICBC counter activation
After receiving the credit card, you can bring your valid ID, credit card and password letter to the counter of the local ICBC branch to open the card. Pick up the card at the local ICBC Credit Card Center (not by mail), and you can open the card on the spot. Bank staff will guide you when opening a card at the counter. The process is very simple. Just fill in the form and submit the information to the staff. If you forget to bring your password letter with you when you go to a business outlet, you can do a "password reset" before opening the card (this service is free), and then activate the card.
This method can only open the card normally at the ICBC counter where the credit card is applied for, and cannot be opened at branches in other places.
2. Customer Service Telephone Activation
Cardholders use the phone number and mobile phone number they filled in when applying for a credit card to access the ICBC customer service hotline to activate the card. Dial: 95588 and dial "6" for international card services. Select the required service language according to the voice prompts and press "3" to enter ICBC credit card services. Then press "2" to enter "Card Activation". Follow the voice prompts to enter your credit card number, valid certificate (ID card) number and other personal information. After completing the identity verification, you can successfully open the card. After opening the card, you can set a consumption password.
3. Online banking activation
Log in to personal online banking from the official website of ICBC and enter "Peony Card Activation" under "Bank Card Services". Enter the card number, card validity period, cardholder name, ID number and other relevant information and click the Confirm button. Finally, set the credit card password and confirm to complete the ICBC Peony Credit Card opening.
