Youth in my eyes
Some time ago, a new term suddenly became popular: slash youth.

What is slash youth?

This word comes from the English word "Slash", which was put forward by The New York Times columnist Marek Alber in his book "Dual Occupation". It means that people with multiple occupations and identities have multiple lives-they may have a nine-to-five job, but they will use their talents to do something they like after work and get extra income.

Just like my own favorite Rene Liu, she likes books. Jing Bo ran commented on her like this:

"Her growth experience, love story, career ups and downs ... constitute each chapter and accumulate into her wisdom and thickness. There is a word called Slash Youth, and the singer/actor/writer is Rene Liu's Slash. After the film "Later Us" was released, she added a slash director. "

The advantage of slash is that on the one hand, it makes money, on the other hand, it simply enjoys the sense of accomplishment brought by the second job. Whatever you do, you'd better have a backup plan. The second income from sideline business can not only subsidize the family, but also make up for the lack of workplace where there is no hope of promotion or salary reduction. Even if we are really unemployed, the new job can continue to support our lives and help us acquire new skills and establish new contacts. How to open slash's door? Because slash's clients are mostly "others", not themselves. Therefore, the most inspiring thing is the daily work. Most slash artists' sideline business develops from part or branch of their full-time job. The key factors of slash's success: low startup cost, large room for growth, adaptability to full-time work, no fixed time limit, and fun to do. The most important thing is to do what interests you most. If you are not sure what you are most interested in, ask yourself if you want to do something, regardless of the gain or loss. If you can't find it temporarily, you can keep looking.

Being a slash youth means "I have the ability to earn more money", so this identity is especially favored by young people who have just entered the workplace. In the interactive encyclopedia, the entry about slash youth quoted such survey data: "In the survey of domestic 18-25-year-old people, 82.6% of young people hope to become slash youth." More than 80% of young people want to be slash youth, which is really an exciting number!

However, how can we become a slash youth?

Slash = part-time?

I read the introduction of slash youth on the internet: in most reports, the way to become a slash youth is part-time.

This reminds me that when I was in college, although there was no such word as "slash youth", there was a buddy who should be the standard of slash youth today: he rented a room in a residential building next to the school as a daily rent, and also sold mobile phone recharge cards on campus as an agent, and promoted credit cards of China Merchants Bank and China Construction Bank in the school.

I remember once, he was invited to give a speech at an activity. His self-introduction includes: at present, his business spans three major fields: real estate, communication and finance.

This guy should be a slash youth today, right?

However, if there are many part-time slash youths, I think they can't compete with Uncle Wang in our village east.

Uncle Wang, more accurately, it should be the slash old man: porter \ bricklayer \ charcoal burner \ weeding worker \ street chess player \ doorman \ sanitation worker ... If necessary, I can list more slashes.

If the pursuit of diversified professional experience and part-time income is regarded as the direction of becoming a slash youth, I think this may be a big pit for many people.

If you try a variety of occupations, you can exercise all kinds of abilities, and in the case of multiple part-time jobs, the so-called exercise ability is only an "illusion of ability" and more of an experience.

I admit, for people who haven't had much contact with society, it is good to get in touch with all walks of life. After all, direct life experience is very important. However, I am opposed to changing what was originally just an eye-opener into more part-time jobs and taking this as the standard of slash youth.

In other words, we have reversed the cause and effect: slash youth should be more a natural result than a diversified result.

Slash is the result, not the cause.

If we blindly want to be a slash youth and pursue the so-called pluralistic life, then we are likely to make a big turn on the road to success.

Think about it, in today's era of highly mobile talents and continuous refinement of social division of labor, competition is becoming more and more fierce. You must be the best in one field to get the real right to speak. If you don't understand this, blindly pursuing part-time cashing is ostensibly to improve your ability, but in fact, it is only superficial to take the time to realize it directly.

At this point, we are no different from Uncle Wang who works part-time in the village.

As a young man with higher education, you spend precious time on superficial part-time cashing, which is not diversity and promotion ability, but you can't control vanity and money temptation. In fact, many things are good things on the surface, but they are not necessarily good things on the deep level.

Slash is the result, not the cause.

One person, team life. You may think: Oh, then I'd better concentrate on my professional knowledge, and I'll leave the rest alone. I will concentrate to the extreme.

If you understand it this way, you are wrong.

? In my opinion, what is more valuable than being a slash youth is that "having superhuman resistance to pressure" is more in line with the status quo. Can accomplish many tasks that can't be completed, and one person can live as a team. For example, I am responsible for theme planning, recording, content review, message review, new customer discovery, old customer maintenance, new content development and publicity copy planning. ...

I am committed to turning a person into a team that can "spy", "ambush", "sniper" and "surround the gang" at any time, and I naturally become a slash youth. Of course, I think I should pay more attention to my health, otherwise I will become a neglected youth. . . )

Of course, to achieve the ultimate, it is not enough to learn only a certain professional knowledge, but to learn all the core abilities related to solving a certain kind of problems. This must be a professional breakthrough.

What I want to say is: in this world, if you want to be the ultimate, you just have to learn to be useless!

Useless things are of great use.

What "useless" is useful to you?

For example, an insurance company in Britain wants to build an office building on the tropical plains of Africa. In this place where the temperature is as high as 40 degrees during the day and can drop below 5 degrees at night, the company's requirements for architects are: good appearance and complete functions, but no air conditioning equipment is allowed!

Air conditioning is not allowed in building office buildings in tropical areas? !

This problem is almost impossible for most professional architects.

However, the solution of the construction industry ultimately comes from ecology.

An architect who understands ecology believes that termites in tropical areas can accurately control the temperature of their nests at around 30 degrees all year round. As a result, he not only completed this architectural task, but also created a new field of architectural design-"natural mimicry project", and became a leader in this field.

Therefore, if you want to achieve the ultimate, you must learn to be "useless."

You may wonder: so many "useless" things. What useless knowledge should I learn?

In my opinion, all kinds of seemingly "useless" irrelevant knowledge will eventually be linked to the bottom.

For example, if you are interested in traditional culture, you will be interested in history, and you will definitely study geography and human culture. Studying human culture will definitely enter the fields of psychology and communication. If you are interested in foreign languages, you will also study language production and cultural changes from grammar learning.

Once your research depth reaches the level of the underlying law, seemingly unrelated issues will be inextricably linked at the bottom.

Of course, for us, the most precious resources are time and energy. We can't exhaust the mystery of this world, so find a breakthrough point in our own interest and ability circle and go deep into this world.

If we understand the ability from this perspective, we will find that to achieve this breakthrough and connection, we need to complete three courses:

Public basic course: executive ability; Professional required course: professional ability; General required course: structural ability.

Our study is just like training soldiers to kick, aim and shoot. We should not only learn professional ability, but also learn structural ability. However, most of us spend 80% of our time on learning executive ability, 20% on learning professional ability, and almost no time on structural ability. But the 28 Law tells us that 20% knowledge determines 80% results, and you should spend more time on improving your structural ability and professional ability.

May you and I both be happy and be a delicate slash youth.
