First of all, you can get a visa on arrival in Egypt, which is simple, convenient and has a low threshold. However, its visa on arrival is divided into two situations: 1. If you hold a valid US or Schengen visa, you can go directly to Egypt to apply for a visa on arrival without any materials.
2. If you do not hold a valid US or Schengen visa, you need to prepare the following materials for your visa on arrival: round-trip air ticket confirmation, four-star or above hotel confirmation, and US$2,000 in cash.
Among these three materials, round-trip air tickets are a mandatory requirement. For high-star hotel confirmations, you can book a hotel with free cancellation on booking and print the confirmation before canceling. The random check of US$2,000 in cash depends on the airport of departure. In some areas, they will ask when checking in, but they will not count it. In some areas, they will not care at all, let alone when entering Egypt.
As for the visa on arrival process, it is very simple. Departing from the country generally enters the country in Cairo. Take Cairo Airport as an example: there will be a bank counter on the right hand side of the stairs after landing. You can buy a visa sticker at the counter for $25/person and stick it on your passport. Show your passport and immigration card. Entry is allowed.
Intercity transportation. When you come to Egypt, the cities you usually visit include the capital Cairo, Alexandria on the Mediterranean Sea, the open-air museum Luxor, Aswan on the banks of the Nile, and the resort city of Hurghada on the Red Sea. There are planes, trains, and buses between various places, and the transportation is very convenient. Of course, if there are many people, you can also choose to charter a car, because transportation in Egypt is not expensive, and the distances between cities are not too far.
Inner city transportation. In Egypt, you can use Uber and Careem to hail a taxi to avoid being ripped off when hailing a taxi offline. Careem is more widely available, while Uber is not available in Luxor. It is recommended to bind credit card payment in advance. Although cash payment is also supported, finding change in cash is a problem. Not only is it troublesome, but the driver may not be able to find it at all, or some unscrupulous drivers will deliberately not give change.
