What is the function of mobile phone STK?

STK can realize the underlying encryption of user data on the user's mobile phone. The encrypted data can only be decrypted at the encryption end. The user's key data is safe during the transmission process.

STK card mobile phones can provide additional menus, including information on demand, mobile banking, etc.

Take mobile banking as an example. Its main services include: querying bills and balances; transferring funds between different accounts, such as salary cards, savings cards, and housing loans; and payment services, that is, paying on the mobile phone. Pay for coal, water, electricity, telephone and other expenses; trade stocks via mobile phone.

As long as the GSM network covers the area, banks can provide services with a wide range of services; mobile banking can provide text messages. Text messages are cheap and only charged when successfully delivered, and do not include Roaming charges.

STK technology is mainly used in mobile banking, stock trading, foreign exchange trading, financial secretaries and other fields. New mobile services such as "Mobile Banking" and "Stock Inquiry and Trading" are using this technology.

STK card is the same as the original SIM card and can be used on ordinary GSM mobile phones. The difference is that the STK card is a new generation of smart card with a high storage capacity. After users switch to STK cards at GSM outlets, they only need to pay a fixed fee every month (different in each province).

Swipe your STK card directly on your mobile phone to make purchases

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, SmarTone, Standard Chartered Bank and Hong Kong Post are jointly developing a new system. As long as consumers use a dual-card mobile phone, they can directly insert their credit card and swipe the card to make purchases instantly, which is convenient and fast.

This system that supports mobile e-commerce is the first open and encrypted system in Hong Kong. It also combines public cryptography infrastructure (PKI), WAP and smart card technology.

To apply this system, consumers must first have a mobile electronic card (M card) with personal data entered, a smart card using STK technology and a dual-card mobile phone.

When shopping, when consumers pay via mobile phone and send personal data, the PKI encryption is immediately obtained on the M card before sending it out, reducing the chance of personal data being stolen. In addition, because the system is an open and compatible platform that can accommodate many merchants and banks to join at any time, consumers will have more choices.

The M card is similar to today's credit cards, except that instead of the traditional 16-digit credit card number displayed on the card, it is engraved with the electronic certificate (e-cert) number issued by Hong Kong Post. When consumers are shopping, they only need to use a dual-card WAP mobile phone and insert the M card into the mobile phone card slot, then they can enter the online store to shop and pay instantly, just like they usually swipe their cards to shop in the store.

Since the consumer's credit card number and other personal information have been recorded in the M card, the consumer does not need to enter the 16-digit credit card number at this time. He only needs to enter a simple personal password to confirm the transaction.

In terms of service charges, consumers only need to pay the fee for applying for an M card just like using a credit card to make purchases, and the bank will charge a commission to the merchant. Mobile phone and Internet charges are determined by mobile phone companies and network operators.
