I applied for a credit card two days ago at the Bank of China, where I pay my salary. All I had to do was provide the bank account and ID card.

Requirements may vary from place to place. The following are the application materials required on the official website of Bank of China. For reference only.

1. Identity documents:

If you are a domestic resident: you need to provide a copy of your resident ID card or temporary resident ID card (both sides, within the validity period) or a copy of your military officer ID card The application for the card payment function only accepts copies of resident ID cards or temporary resident ID cards for the time being.

If you are a foreigner, you need to provide:

① Valid passport;

② A copy of the "Foreigner's Residence Permit" or affixed to the visa page of the valid passport A copy of the attached "Residence Permit for Foreigners" or a copy of "Permanent Residence Permit for Foreigners";

If you are from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan: you need to provide the "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents" or the "Returning Hometown Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Compatriots" Certificate" or a copy of the "Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents".

2. Documents proving financial resources: (You can choose any of the following)

Formal salary slips or income certificates issued by government agencies and enterprises in the past three months ( Company seal or department seal required);

Copy of bank book/bill for salary payment (need to show salary entry information for the past three months);

Last three months Copy of personal income tax payment certificate;

Copy of social insurance withholding certificate;

Copy of self-owned property certificate;

Bank fixed-term and current deposit slips /Copy of passbook;

Copy of fund, treasury bond, corporate bond purchase voucher (need to show the purchaser’s name, account number and account balance);

Copy of membership card, including: Golf membership card, China Mobile, China Unicom VIP card, Air China Miles Platinum, Gold and Silver Membership Card, China Southern Airlines Sky Pearl Gold and Silver Membership Card, China Eastern Miles Club Gold and Silver Membership Card (required Display name and card expiration date), etc.
