What will happen if your credit card is overdue and refuses to receive a collection call?

Rejecting a collection call if your credit card is overdue will be regarded as a malicious overdraft. This must not be done, as the consequences will be serious.

If the credit card debt is not repaid and it is determined to be a malicious overdraft and the amount is relatively large, a case can be filed.

If the cardholder overdrafts beyond the prescribed limit or within the prescribed period for the purpose of illegal possession, and fails to return the card for more than 3 months after being called upon twice by the card-issuing bank, it shall be deemed as a malicious overdraft.

According to Article 196 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, "malicious overdraft" is a criminal act of credit card fraud.

A malicious overdraft amount of more than 10,000 yuan is considered a "large amount" stipulated in Article 196 of the Criminal Law and is already a crime. The public security can arrest the person directly after performing normal procedures.

Note: Even if the amount is less than 10,000, you may be detained by the police, and the money will have to be paid back then.
