On February 2, 2005, Alipay launched "full compensation" payment and made a promise of "if you dare to use it, I dare to compensate you".

On February 27, 2008, Alipay released its mobile e-commerce strategy and launched mobile payment services.

On October 25, 2008, Alipay public utility payment was officially launched, supporting payment for water, electricity, coal, communications, etc.

On December 23, 2010, Alipay cooperated with Bank of China to launch credit card quick payment for the first time.

In June 2013, Alipay launched the account balance value-added service "Yu'E Bao". Through Yu'E Bao, users can not only get higher returns, but also pay and transfer money at any time without any fees.

On November 30, 2013, the 12306 website supported Alipay for purchasing train tickets.

On May 20, 2016, Samsung mobile payment service Samsung Pay and Alipay officially announced their cooperation. Users can quickly bring up Alipay’s payment interface on Samsung mobile phones by sliding up the screen.

In June 2017, Monaco signed a strategic cooperation agreement (MOU) with Alipay, and merchants across the country will access Alipay.

On January 25, 2018, Alipay announced its entry into Israel, officially bringing mobile payment services to the Middle East to provide convenience for Chinese tourists.

On January 26, 2018, Alipay and its Swiss partner SIX Payment Services jointly announced that the Swiss town of Davos has full access to Alipay.

In August 2018, Alipay quietly launched a group buying function. This function is a "limited time group buying" and will recommend different group buying products to users in different time periods.

In August 2018, China’s Alipay will start operating in Pakistan by the end of 2018. Ant Financial is currently applying to the Central Bank of Pakistan and the Competition Commission for a license to provide financial services. On September 12, 2018, at the Ant Open Day mini program special event, Alipay announced the end of the public beta of the mini program and its official launch and the establishment of a mini program division.

On November 19, 2018, National Australia Bank (NAB) announced that it would cooperate with the Chinese electronic payment platform Alipay to launch Alipay collection and payment services on POS machines provided to customers in early 2019.
