The predecessor of Kunlun Bank is Karamay City Commercial Bank. In April, 2009, China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Co., Ltd. took control of Karamay Commercial Bank through capital increase, and officially changed its name to Kunlun Bank in April, 20 10.
