The guarantee period of the guarantee contract in credit card disputes does not refer to the guarantee period in the strict sense, but refers to the unique "settlement period" in the maximum guarantee contract.

Legal basis: Article 690 of the General Principles of the Civil Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) (hereinafter referred to as the Civil Law), the guarantor and the creditor may conclude a maximum guarantee contract through consultation, and agree to provide guarantee for the creditor's rights that occur continuously within a certain period within the maximum amount of creditor's rights. In addition to the provisions of this chapter, the maximum amount guarantee shall be governed by the relevant provisions of the maximum amount mortgage in Part II of this Law.
