Huizhou is a historical city in eastern Guangdong with a unique geographical location and beautiful natural environment. The city has a subtropical monsoon climate. The Tropic of Cancer crosses Yangcun in Boluo County and Nankun Mountain in Longmen County of the city. The northern part of the territory is mountainous, the central, western and riverside areas are mostly alluvial plains, and the eastern and southern parts are hills and plateaus. The territory has abundant rainfall, sufficient sunshine, and a mild climate. An ancient saying goes: "There are thirty-six West Lakes in China, only Huizhou is as large as Hangzhou." In the first year of Shaosheng in the Song Dynasty (1049 AD), Su Dongpo, a great Chinese writer, was exiled to Huizhou. He highly praised Huizhou West Lake and funded its construction.
