What are the consequences of using your own ID card to apply for a bank card for someone else?

This is equivalent to lending a bank card to others. First of all, it violates the management regulations of the People's Bank of China on bank cards. Secondly, if they use the card to launder money or engage in other illegal transactions, you will be jointly and severally liable.

Remarks:

1. According to Article 28 of Chapter 5 of the "Measures for the Administration of Bank Card Business" promulgated by the People's Bank of China: Individuals applying for bank cards shall apply to the card issuer. The bank provides a valid identity document required by the public security department, and after the card-issuing bank passes the review, a registered account will be opened for the cardholder. The bank card and its account can only be used by the cardholder approved by the card-issuing bank, and may not be rented or lent.

2. When a customer applies for a bank card, he or she forms a contractual relationship with the bank. This contractual relationship is not transferable, so the customer transfers the bank card privately without the consent of the bank. It means that the contract rights and obligations that one should bear have been transferred and changed, which is both a breach of contract and an invalid act.

3. According to the relevant provisions of the "Criminal Law", "Bank Law" and "Anti-Money Laundering Law", even if the cardholder has no knowledge, he must bear joint liability.
