Singapore Family Travel Guide for 2-year-olds A guide to eating, drinking and having fun in Singapore

Singapore is a highly developed Southeast Asian country with the reputation of a garden city. It is the only developed country in a tropical climate environment. It not only has an excellent economic and financial system, but also a strong entertainment industry. As well as recreational activities, it is a good travel destination.

Singapore parent-child travel members:

A young couple with a 2-year-old child, five days (one night in Bintan Island and the remaining three nights in the main island), flying economy to Haneda, Tokyo, Japan Cabin, I have summarized all the expenses. Friends who need reference can save it.

Preparation before departure

Must bring: stroller (if the child is older, just bring a lightweight one, if the child is small, it is best to bring one that can lie flat. Every day when the kids fall asleep when they are outside),

water bottle, anti-mosquito supplies (although the Singapore government does a much better job of killing mosquitoes than Japan, there are still a lot of mosquitoes in the zoo),

easy to walk Sandals (if you like sports shoes, bring them, but it’s really hot), 2 sets of children’s clothes for x number of days, and portable inflatable foot pads in economy class.

Things you don’t need to bring: diapers (available in supermarkets in Singapore), baby food and water (basically not needed if you are two years old, if the child is not very picky, everything is available in Singapore)

Transportation Guide

Because we have children, we basically take taxis every day. Because Singapore is very small, it takes about 20 minutes to get anywhere, and the one-way cost is about 100-150rmb. Although it is more expensive than in China, it is much cheaper than in Japan, so I tolerate it. Yes, taking the subway is very cheap, about 15rmb, and very convenient. You can basically use Alipay or WeChat to pay for taxis.

Schedule

No matter how convenient the infrastructure is in a city, traveling with children is a very physically demanding job. Moreover, the weather in Singapore is relatively hot and muggy, so it is recommended for all mothers. Dad, don’t force yourself, just visit one scenic spot a day leisurely. Below is our schedule.

Day 1: Singapore Zoo

Day 2: Universal Studios

Day 3 → Day 4: Bintan Island (highly recommended)

Day 5: Gardenbythebay (a holy place to check in and take photos)

Hotel Accommodation

Singapore hotels are great but most of them are expensive. It is recommended to bring children with rooms above 40 square meters. Yes, we only chose to stay in the Ritz Carlton for one day, and stayed at the very cost-effective Fairmont for the rest.

The little story here is that we took a late-night flight and arrived at the Fairmont at 6 a.m., and ordinary hotels You can only go in at 3pm. Fairmont saw that we had children and took good care of us and let us in if the room was available. Thank you very much. In addition to the good view, the service at Ritz is not very considerate, and the price is twice that of Fairmont.

We stayed at Theresidence of Bintan (Picture 4) for one night when we went to Bintan Island. The small villa with a private pool of 258 square meters was amazing.

Food and catering

We basically focus on the foodcourt and night market next to the hotel. Personally, I think the rich variety and good prices are enough. If you want to eat seafood, you can go to thejumbo

, I recommend the black pepper crab, but please note that the price is current and sometimes it can be very expensive.

Souvenir gifts

The dried meats of Lam Chee Yuan and Bee Chin Heong are comparable. I don’t have time to go to Chinatown, so I can just buy Bee Chin Heong at the airport when I leave. The special salted egg potato piece.

Singapore Travel Summary

My impression of Singapore is that it is really baby-friendly. Everywhere I go is very friendly to children. Everyone greets them with a smile. Everyone in the hotels and attractions is very friendly. They are very caring. In short, I feel that everyone likes the children.

Although Japan has excellent hardware, the general feeling is that people are still relatively indifferent to children. The Japanese people's inflexible character means that children will not receive any special treatment under any circumstances.

What impressed me the most was the diversity of races, religions, and ethnicities in Singapore that I saw in various scenes, not just as a tourist destination, but also in the administrative, educational levels, administrative departments, and schools. The students are also composed of various races. The language is basically Chinese and English.

Singapore has proved itself to be a powerful country with its tolerant mind, and it can accommodate various cultures and races and perfectly integrate them. (This may also be very different from Japan. Generally speaking, Japanese people are weak to things that are different from themselves and have a feeling of rejection. For example, your Japanese is not authentic, your name is not a Japanese name, and your skin color is different. , basically if one of these items is met, you will be permanently labeled as a "foreigner" and will never be able to integrate into Japanese society. Therefore, Japan is a very single society, which I personally feel is the main reason for its lack of vitality.)

Citizens have a high awareness of natural environment issues, wildlife issues, and greening issues, and there are publicity for the protection of the global environment on various occasions. What impressed me deeply is that the Singapore Zoo is the first range-free zoo in the world. The animals are not placed in cages. They are very free and leisurely. It reminds me of the small cages where the animals in Ueno Zoo in Tokyo are very pitiful. It starts with basic education. Instill environmental protection, so that economic development and living environment protection can be carried out at the same time without conflict.

Of course, when I go to a country for the first time, I see all the benefits. You cannot compare the experience of a first trip with a place where I have lived for 15 years. I think it is a very clean and beautiful place. The city is suitable for taking children on a family trip. You don’t have to worry about the language. Basically everyone can speak Chinese.

First of all, let’s talk about transportation. I think it’s better not to take a taxi if you have public transportation. I just take a taxi and it costs about 20 Singapore dollars and 100 yuan. Public transportation is very convenient. I suggest you take more Choose public transport to travel, and then everyone can try Singapore's famous restaurants to suit your personal taste.

Anyway, the important thing is to try when going out. Consumption in Singapore is still very expensive. I originally wanted to buy a bottle of fairy water in Singapore and saw that it cost around 1800. I found a Korean agent to buy it for only 1400, so I decided not to spend too much in Singapore. .

There are a few attractions that I think must be visited. One is the cable car in Singapore. It can cross Langtosa Island. It is very leisurely and the scenery is beautiful. It is worth recommending. I have a roller coaster project on Sentosa Island. I think it’s worth checking in. It’s very interesting. It’s the first time I’ve seen such an entertainment project.

It’s fun to take the cable car up and then slide down the slide. Then you have to check in at Universal Studios. Universal Studios in every country are pretty good and you won’t be disappointed, but the one in Singapore is smaller and has a lot of people. It is recommended to buy a fast ticket, which is much faster. In Japan, if you don’t have a fast ticket, you can finish it in one day.

But I still buy express in Singapore honestly. After playing, you can go out to eat and stroll around. There are delicious yogurt and fruit cups, the largest candy store, very rich, and the Singapore Ferris Wheel. It is said to be the largest in Asia. I took the cable car to see the whole of Singapore during the day.

You can ride the Ferris wheel at night to see the night view of the entire Singapore. There is also the F1 racing track below. If you can choose to stay in Sands for a day, you can experience it. If you don’t have time, you can go shopping. There are some brand flagship stores inside. , as for the commercial street, I think I would recommend the Ion Mall on Orchard Road.

You can basically buy everything you want, and the Sephora here has fenty

Beauty, the price is incomparable, but some popular items are in stock, Ion really has a full range , Lin Zhiyuan Butcher Shop, colorful cakes, salted egg yolk fish skin, Ya Kun, Toast Workshop, you can find everything you want here, and my favorite cheese brand Letao, they actually sell cheese cakes here! The negative 3 below are all delicious food, which is completely satisfying, and there is no need to go to other malls.

Speaking of must-buys, the salted egg yolk snack bar is very satisfying in the mouth. The salted egg yolk wraps are crispy and fragrant, but if you eat more, you will feel tired. You can bring a full amount to your friends. The colorful cake is very delicious. The fluffy cake is soft and sweet without feeling special.

The most worth buying is Hermès in tea, TWG

TEA, I was intoxicated as soon as I bought it. The decoration of the whole store is great and the tea smells really good. I have bought this brand in Hong Kong and Macau, but Singapore is the birthplace. It is a real tea shop. From tea sets to tea leaves, it is really great. Colorful jars. I want every one. I chose two classic teas to put in. I happily took the jar home.
