Study in Germany: How to save money studying in Germany

Hello, based on your question, I recommend the following answer for you. I hope it will be helpful to you and hope to adopt it.

I have studied in Germany for two years and accumulated some experience, which I would like to share with everyone.

1 Travel

1.1 Deutsche Bahn

1.1.1 Bahncard

Those who like to travel or travel a lot should prepare a Bahncard. Our students usually buy 25 cards or 50 cards. I personally recommend 25 cards. First, the annual fee for 25 cards is 41 euros, which is much cheaper than the 127 euros for 50 cards. You can easily earn back by taking two trains.

Secondly, the 25-member card is a 25% discount on the discount ticket Sparangebot, and the minimum price for a distance of more than 100km is 21.75 euros, while the 50-member card is a 50% discount on the full price, and the ticket price may still be high. .

You need to pay attention to four points when using 25 cards. First, the earlier you buy Sparangebot, the cheaper it may be. Second, after buying Sparangebot, you must take this train. With 50 cards, you can take any train on this section of the day. The third is to activate the points service and accumulate points when buying tickets. The fourth is that if you no longer want to use the card, you must submit a refund application six weeks before expiration, otherwise the deduction will be automatically extended.

A few words about points.

European exchange for 1 point, you can save almost no matter what kind of ticket you buy, whether you buy it online, at self-service ticket machines, or at manual ticket sales. Save up every time you buy a ticket, don’t be bothered. If you save 1,000 points, you can exchange for an ICE one-way ticket. I have exchanged it three times to avoid the high fares when I didn't buy a discount ticket. I also exchanged five movie coupons. 2D movie tickets are free of charge at all German cinemas, and 3D movie tickets only cost a little extra.

Then someone will ask, how many tickets do I need to buy to save 1,000 points? Here are three tips. First, Deutsche Bahn will launch a lottery during Christmas. It will start on December 1st. It is similar to Adventskalender. I went to draw every day and did not win the prize, but Deutsche Bahn gave me 3,000 points. Second, Deutsche Bahn gave me 3,000 points. Points games are launched from time to time, please pay attention to the email notification. I easily got 500 points through a game. Third, within a few weeks after buying a long-distance ICE ticket, Deutsche Bahn may send an e-coupon via email. Next Tickets purchased once can be used, but there are restrictions on destination and minimum fare.

Also note that when you use Bahncard to buy ICE for a distance of more than 100km, it will automatically come with a City-Ticket, and you can use it for free in city transportation.

1.1.2 Other products of Deutsche Bahn

In addition to using Bahncard to purchase point-to-point tickets, you should also pay attention to other products of Deutsche Bahn, including Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket during the week and weekends. Sch?nes-Wochenende-Ticket, cantonal tickets for each canton, multiple tickets within the city, day tickets, etc. By making good use of different product combinations, you can get the lowest ticket prices! When combining, please check the range of each ticket. If you are unsure, go to Reisezentrum or Info to ask the staff.

1.1.3 Make good use of human services

Although under normal circumstances you can just buy a ticket and get on the bus without having to deal with human services, but when special circumstances arise, asking for help from human services will avoid unnecessary loss! Let me give you two examples of my own.

First, once I came back from Munich and booked a night train ticket, but I was so happy that I forgot about time. When I arrived from Salzburg to Munich, the night train had already left for several minutes. I knew it was my mistake. Even if the train from Salzburg was on time, I wouldn't be able to catch the night train. In this case, I usually have to buy a new full-price ticket, but I went to Info with a glimmer of hope. The guy was super nice. He said it was my mistake and helped me change my ticket for free! ! ! I almost burst into tears at that time. I avoided a loss of more than 200 euros.

Secondly, I once arrived at the train station well in advance and encountered a large-scale train delay. At first, I wanted to sit and wait for my train, and then I wanted to be compensated for being delayed by one hour. I first I went to Info to get the compensation form, but the staff told me that the last train was late and had just arrived, so you should hurry up and take it.

I rushed to the platform, jumped on the train the moment it closed, and arrived at the destination early on this delayed train...

1.1.4 Cooperation between supermarkets and Deutsche Bahn

Supermarkets such as Rewe and Lidl sometimes cooperate with Deutsche Bahn to launch blank ICE tickets for 79 or 99 euros. You can buy them if you happen to have travel plans!

1.1.5 Deutsche Bahn Pass

I have never used it myself. A friend has bought the 99-euro pass that Deutsche Bahn regularly launches, including 4 one-way passes, origin and destination. You have to fill in the ground yourself, and you can transfer on the way. It’s still a good deal!

1.1.6 Credit card payment

Starting from this year, tickets purchased with a credit card for more than 50 euros will need to pay a handling fee. This unnecessary expense is entirely avoidable.

For more unfinished matters of Deutsche Bahn, please refer to the summary: DB Deutsche Bahn_1898604681_Sina Blog

1.2 L'tur

Except from Deutsche Bahn Another great tool for buying train tickets is L'tur! It is possible to buy tickets in Germany for 27 euros 7 days in advance, and in Europe it is possible to buy tickets for 37 euros 14 days in advance! All we have to do is go up and check every day to see if there are any cheap tickets. Please note that Bahncard cannot be used for this kind of ticket, and the ticket cannot be changed or refunded. A credit card must be used (I will talk about credit cards later). But, it’s really cheap! ! ! Portal: Bahn Tickets bei L'TUR

1.3 Austrian Railways

MyDealZ, mentioned by a friend, is indeed a magical website. A German netizen mentioned above that when he was searching for train tickets to Munich during the Oktoberfest, he found that Deutsche Bahn tickets were already very expensive. Because Bayern borders Austria, he went to the Austrian official website to search for train tickets from Germany to the German-Austrian border with the attitude of giving it a try, and it turned out to be very good! Convenience! should! When searching, be careful to try different destinations. For example, try outside Salzburg, and then try a few stops behind this big city. It may be cheaper.

1.4 Return air tickets

Please book at Chinese Travel Agency! They can get internal discount tickets, which usually only cost 500 Euro+ including tax, and they can bring two pieces of luggage, and it’s a direct flight! I returned to China three times, and my air tickets were 560, 528, and 515 respectively. The longest was more than two months in advance and the shortest was half a month. You can also add a round-trip train ticket, rail&fly, a blank ticket, and you can take any train for only 60 euros for a round trip and 30 euros for a one-way trip! Sometimes you can even get it for free! Although it may be cheaper to buy it from Deutsche Bahn, if your flight is delayed or you are delayed in picking up your luggage and you miss the flight you bought, you will have to buy it again at the original price. I believe many students have this experience. After making an inquiry on the travel agency website, you will receive an email stating the flight and price. You can then transfer the money and issue the ticket. No credit card is required, which is very convenient.

1.5 Semester Ticket

As students, you have a semester ticket. You should check the scope of free rides and make good use of it. Students from North Rhine-Westphalia are the luckiest. North Rhine-Westphalia is so big and has so many cities, and you can take all means of transportation inside and outside the city! You can also bring one person for free on weeknights and weekends! Students in Lower Saxony are also relatively lucky. They can take any train within the state, including to Hamburg and Bremen. They can also take any transportation in the city where the school is located. For example, Braunschweig governs Wolfsburg, Goslar and Harz Mountains. It’s free to go; you may also be able to take the transportation in other cities, for example, students in Bren can take the S-Bahn in Hannover.

Regarding semester tickets, please note: 1. Don’t borrow your classmates’ semester tickets for cheap. You are harming them, and you may both be deported! Second, be sure not to lend your semester tickets to others, rather pay for them to buy them, otherwise you may both be deported! Third, be sure to bring your Aufenthaltstitel, otherwise you will be fined during ticket inspection! Fourth, be sure not to take express trains such as ICE/IC on free sections. The first time you check, the conductor may see that you don’t understand anything and let you go. Next time, you may be out of luck and have to pay for your ticket!

Especially when it comes to borrowing semester tickets, I have also heard about how to deal with it. The person holding it said he picked it up on the ground, and the person lending it said he had lost the ticket, but there were two of them. Do the Chinese and Germans feel unclear about this? ! Sometimes it's just a matter of letting go.

Even if you are not deported, it will leave a stain. It will be difficult to find a job in Germany or come to Germany again. Think clearly!

1.6 Buses and hitchhiking

In addition to railways, there are also buses and hitchhiking options for traveling in Germany.

Since the expiration of the Deutsche Bahn protection law in 2014, buses have developed in full swing. The fare is cheap, generally much cheaper than the train; there are more and more lines, and there are buses between major cities; the facilities on the train are getting better and better, including bathrooms and Wi-Fi (although the Internet speed is sometimes not good), The Wi-Fi on MeinFernBus also comes with its own movie library, where you can watch German movies for free. The disadvantage is that it takes a long time and is suitable for students with less money and more free time. You can even take buses to neighboring countries. For example, there are overnight buses from North Germany to Paris. Here is a bus search website recommended, which can display the schedules of all bus companies, which is very convenient. Portal: Fernbus SuchmaschineHitchhiking is also a cheap way, and in Germany, hitchhiking is pretty safe. The disadvantages are, firstly, you can’t do anything in the car, the car vibrates very much, and it will be uncomfortable to read or watch a mobile phone. The most you can do is listen to music, but sometimes the car owner will play the music very loudly. Secondly, if the passengers in the car only have If you are alone, then you have the obligation to chat with the driver. This is not only a sign of politeness, but also prevents the driver from being less safe after being tired from long-distance driving. Third, the driver sometimes changes the time or itinerary, or encounters traffic jams, which is more troublesome. . Hitchhiking search site portal: Die gründte Mitfahrzentrale Deutschlands. (This website has now been acquired by blablacar...) There is now a new hitchhiking website called blablacar. The routes are integrated into the bus search engine above, so don't confuse it with the bus.

1.7 Low-cost airlines

When traveling within Europe, in addition to railways, the probability of using low-cost airlines is very high. Low-cost airline search engine portal: international air ticket inquiry, special air ticket booking, international flights, low-cost airline Skyscanner. There is a little trick. When searching, you can try a few more airports. For example, a student in Lower Saxony has three airports to choose from, Hannover, Bremen, and Hamburg. Different routes and fares will be found. Low-cost airlines sometimes cooperate with German supermarkets and sell discounted tickets on the supermarket's official website. Note that low-cost airlines generally charge for checked baggage, so it is best not to bring checked baggage. Boys can carry a schoolbag, and girls can bring a carry-on suitcase. In addition, the airports of low-cost airlines may be far away, and the departure and arrival times may be relatively poor. You must check in advance whether there is a car on your way there and back.

1.8 Rent a car

Students with a German driver’s license can rent a car and travel by car. Search and compare prices in advance. When searching with check24, be careful. There is no Sixt drop in the result list. You need to go to Sixt to check it yourself. I have been using Sixt myself. The main reason is that Sixt has low driving experience requirements. Many car rental websites require a German driver's license to be held for more than 6 months. At the same time, its prices are also reasonable. When returning the car, pay attention to check whether there are any scratches on the body. It is best to ask the staff to come over to do an appraisal and then show you a Rueckgabeprotokoll. As long as it says there is no problem, you don’t have to worry about the car rental company discovering something else and deducting the money. payment.

For students who are interning in large companies, if you show your company ID at the car rental point, you will get additional discounts, such as unlimited mileage and the second driver is free. You can also use your company email to register for websites like Mitarbeiterangebote or Mitarbeiterrabatte, which cooperate with car rental companies and provide discounts. In fact, not only car rental, many merchants on the website provide discounts for company employees.

2 Banks

2.1 Deutsche Bank

Most students come to Germany with a Deutsche Bank card in hand. After you come to Germany to open a card, you can go to the bank and print out a Kontoauszug to see how much money has been deducted. I transferred 8240 euros according to the visa requirements. The letter from Deutsche Bank stated that the actual amount was 8227 euros. It was written on my Kontoauszug that another 60 euros were deducted, of which 10 euros was some kind of handling fee or card opening fee. 50 euros is the account lock fee.

Bren asked for the account to be locked, but Stu didn't. I'm envious...

Because we are students, our account at Deutsche Bank is das Junge Konto. There is no monthly management fee, and there is also a The good thing is that as a Girokonto, it actually has interest. In the first half of last year, there was still 0.5% interest (annual interest rate, the same below). As the European Central Bank continues to cut interest rates to 0.05%, the interest on this account also continues to decrease. , it is now 0.2%. However, having interest is always better than having none, and it is also a small income for us. Everyone should pay attention to the Umsatzanzeige of online banking at the end of each quarter to see how much interest income there is.

Regarding interest, a very important setting is the Freistellungsauftrag, because Germany has an interest tax, but there is a tax-free limit of 801 euros per person (1,602 euros for a couple). This tax-free amount can be used in different banks. allocated between. If you don't tell the bank, the bank will default to taxing the interest. So go to the Deutsche Bank counter or go to online banking to set it up. You can then see that the interest tax is refunded.

When I extended my visa in the second year, I needed to lock my account again. I didn’t want to pay another 50 euros to the bank, so I changed my bank, see 2.2.

Deutsche Bank issues a copy of Kontoauszug every once in a while. I have heard before that you need to print it yourself, otherwise you will be charged for having it sent to your home. But I didn't print it myself the year before last. It was all sent to my home, and no fees were deducted. This year I could see it in my online banking inbox, so I never sent it again. To be on the safe side, it is recommended that you check out Kontoauszug in online banking to avoid unnecessary charges.

When we are no longer students, das Junge Konto is automatically converted into an ordinary account, and a monthly management fee of 4.9 euros is charged. At this time, it is recommended to cancel it and change the bank, see 2.3.

2.2 Sparkasse

In order to avoid the high fees for locking your account, I went to Sparkasse to apply for a Sparbuch. There is no fee and no management fee. The first time you lock your account, it costs 15 euros. , it will be free in the future. Sparbuch also has interest, which was originally 0.15% and has now been reduced to 0.05% following the European Central Bank. Sparbuch can withdraw up to 2,000 euros per month without notification. The excess will be charged to the bank interest, but it is very low, calculated in cents. I only applied for the account book, not its card, so I had to go to the counter to withdraw money every time, which was not very convenient. When I first withdraw money, the staff gave me the money without looking at the ID. I raised a question on the spot, so he marked the word PA on my account book, Personalalausweis, and withdrew the money based on the ID. Sure enough, you will be asked to show your ID every time you withdraw money from now on, ensuring the safety of your funds. If it is no longer needed as a locked account, the SAFE must present documents to unlock it, instead of it automatically unlocking after one year. If you want to cancel, go to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange to issue a certificate and take it to the bank to cancel on the spot.

I heard from Dam’s classmates that their Sparkasse account lock is cheaper, 3 euros each time...

2.3 Online Banking

In order to avoid offline banks Due to the high cost of branches, many banks have launched independent brands of online banking. The characteristics are: from account opening to account management, almost all is completed through the Internet, occasionally with the help of the postal service, almost no contact with outlets, and almost no manual services. Fortunately, in this online society, this is not a problem. Postbank is a special case, as postal branches are spread all over Germany. If you can make good use of online banking, you can earn a little extra money!

When I first came to Germany, I saw the activities of various online banks in full swing, and they all advertised free money for opening an account, so I tried to apply for one, but there was no news. Later I realized that opening a bank account in Germany requires a personal credit check. I had only been in Germany for less than three months, my credit record was almost zero, and the bank did not approve opening an account. It is recommended to wait six months after arriving in Germany and Deutsche Bank has sufficient fund flow records before applying to another bank.

Six months later, I saw the comdirect offer of giving away 100 euros when opening an account. After carefully studying the terms, I decided to apply to open an account.

I trust this bank more because comdirect is an online bank owned by Commerzbank. It is backed by a big bank and is guaranteed. If there are special circumstances, you can handle business at the counter of Commerzbank. Commerzbank belongs to Cash Group, which also includes Deutsche Bank, Postbank, HypoVereinsbank and Shell gas stations that have joined, so comdirect cards are free of charge for cash withdrawals from Cash Group ATMs. If you want to deposit money, you can go to Commerzbank’s ATMs and there will be no handling fee (from 2016 onwards, you can only make free deposits three times a year, please note!). There are no maintenance fees on the account, and there is no need to deposit a certain amount every month.

After applying for an account online, the materials were sent to your home not long after. You filled them out and took your ID to the post office. The post office did identity verification. The materials were sent back to the bank (we did not need to pay postage), and they were collected shortly after. The materials for successful account opening have arrived. According to the requirements, there were five account activities in the first three months, including transfers and withdrawals, each exceeding 25 euros. In the fourth month, 100 euros were received, which was all right. Easily move the mouse to get 100 euros.

Comdirect has another advantage. In addition to Girokonto, it also comes with Tagesgeld Plus, which is a linked account with interest, while Giro is interest-free. From the end of 2013 to the middle of 2014, the interest rate was still 0.6%, which was quite high. Then it saw it drop all the way to 0.5%, then to 0.35%, and this year it dropped to 0.25%. There is no way, the European Central Bank has set the interest rate too low. . However, it can be seen that this interest rate is always higher than that of Deutsche Bank during the same period. In order to maximize the interest, it is recommended to transfer most of Giro's money to Tagesgeld, and the interest will be settled every quarter, which is another small income. Just leave enough funds in Giro for daily expenses. I usually leave 100~200 euros for myself, because whether it is depositing, withdrawing or transferring money, all Giro money is used. Then if there is a transfer, transfer the required amount from Tagesgeld back to Giro one day in advance. One thing to note here is that if the Giro balance is negative, interest will be paid to the bank. Once I only had more than 30 euros left in my Giro, and I was allowed to withdraw 50 euros. I didn't care at the time, but a few days later I found out that interest had been deducted. The penalty interest is very high, with the annual interest rate exceeding 13%.

You should pay more attention to the inbox in comdirect online banking, and click in to read the financial report as soon as possible. If you don't read it, it will be sent to your home and charges will be deducted. In addition, there are often activities, such as recommending a friend to open an account, and each person will receive 25 euros.

Another thing that I think is particularly good about comdirect is that it provides free online courses, which can be attended by customers regardless of whether they are customers or not. It will introduce some financial and financial management knowledge, which is of course closely related to its own business. . I have participated several times and it is quite fun. I will participate more in the future to learn.

I basically only deal with online banking. The only time I dealt with people was because I wanted to ask if this account could be used to lock the account, so I sent an email to customer service and received a reply quickly. , no, so there is 2.2. But this proves that contacting customer service is useful.

I know that Postbank also has an event where you can open an account and get money, but one of my classmates went to do it and encountered something strange. Not only did they not give any refund, but they also charged account management fees. When I went to the post office, the staff said it was us. It's your fault. I copied your student ID card and handed it in, but then I continued to charge management fees. I was drunk.

There are also some accounts that require a monthly deposit of 1,000 euros or 1,200 euros to waive the account management fee, which is not recommended.

In short, if you see this kind of activity, you need to carefully study the terms, whether it is really free, how to get the grant, and how much interest there is.

2.4 Credit Card

In Germany, having Giro may not be enough, you also need a credit card. For example, the cheap train tickets mentioned in 1.2, the low-cost airline tickets in 1.6, booking hotels on Booking, and buying foreign tickets often only support credit cards. Credit cards are subject to stricter review of credit records, so it is better to apply after six months after coming to Germany.

The credit card I applied for in Germany was Advanzia Bank’s Gebuehrenfrei Mastercard, and several of my classmates also had this card. I did a little background research on this bank. It is a Luxembourg bank and basically only operates in Luxembourg and Germany. I wrote an email to the bank and asked whether there would be German Schufa records for consumption and repayment. The bank replied that it only notified Schufa when opening the card, and no subsequent records would be entered into Schufa. This is what I feel is a pity. I cannot use this credit card to improve Schufa's credit. In the future, I will apply for a comdirect Visa card with no annual fee. I will share my experience when the time comes (see below).

The review of this credit card is relatively loose, and the success rate of student applications is high. Its terms say that there is no handling fee for payment under any circumstances. When the card is swiped abroad, there is no handling fee and the settlement is based on the exchange rate when the card is swiped. This is the only credit card I know of that does not require a handling fee for swiping cards outside the Eurozone. Otherwise, there is usually a 1.5% handling fee.

When I first got the card, the limit was only 80 euros. Several of my classmates had different limits, which were more than 100 euros. As long as you repay on time, your credit limit will grow quickly. My limit gradually climbed to 3,600 euros. At this time, I felt that it was not safe anymore. I wrote an email to the bank and asked to lower it to 800 euros, which was quickly reduced for me. At that time, my internship salary was 800 euros, so I set this amount and it was enough. Since then, the quota has remained at this level and has not been automatically increased. When I started working, the demand for the credit limit increased. I wrote an email to the bank to increase the credit limit, but the increase was very slow, which was quite strange.

The interest-free period of this card is quite long, and the payment must be made before the 20th of each month. Repayment requires you to actively transfer funds, which may be troublesome to some people, but I think it is just a matter of moving the mouse. At the beginning of each month, the bank will send a statement via email. Just remit the amount as required before the 20th. You will receive a confirmation email after the payment is received. Because you have to remit money once a month, you can set up a template in online banking. Load the template and enter the amount every time you remit money. In May 2016, I forgot to repay the loan on time and was two or three days late, but the bank did not charge me any fees.

In the online banking of this credit card, you can see the consumption record, which usually appears with a delay of three days, so it is recommended to keep the receipt. If you discover fraud, contact your bank immediately.

Let’s talk about Comdirect’s Visa. I applied for it later. This card has two amazing functions. One is that the amount swiped by the card is automatically rounded up. For example, if you swipe 24.35 euros and swipe 25 euros, 0.65 euros will automatically enter Tagesgeld. At the end of the month, 10% of the money entering Tagesgeld will be given to us by the bank! Second, this card does not charge a handling fee for cash withdrawals at Visa machines outside the Eurozone. This card is settled once every month and is deducted from Giro. Make sure there is enough money in Giro.

I also have a classmate who has an Amazon Visa card. When applying for it, you can deduct 30 euros on Amazon. It is very useful. Interested students can pay attention to it. As for the Barclays card, no one around me uses it. Students who use it can come out and explain it in detail.

Before I applied for a credit card, I used a domestic credit card. Euro purchases would be converted into U.S. dollars and then into RMB. I had to suffer two exchange rate losses. It was only suitable for emergency use when I didn’t have a German credit card.

2.5 Hua Xia Bank

Many students around me have Hua Xia Bank cards, and they have the number and limit of fee-free withdrawals every day. I didn’t apply for this card myself because I basically have no need for fund transactions with China, and the funds locked in the account in Germany are sufficient. But I can think of a point that can be taken advantage of, withdraw money when the euro is falling, especially the falling euro now...

3 Insurance

3.1 Public Insurance

Whether it is DAK, TK or AOK, there must be programs to encourage insured people to stay healthy. Go there Check the official website. I am a DAK myself, so I will talk about its usage skills.

3.1.1 gesundAktivBonus

This is a points project of DAK, which can be easily registered online. After registering, you should soon receive a points magazine with a lot of Bonus-Schecks in it. After participating in the event, have the doctor or event organizer sign or stamp it, and then sign and submit it to the office to accumulate points. It turns out that points can only be exchanged for gifts, but after listening to customer opinions, you can exchange them for 25 euros after accumulating 2,500 points. I have exchanged them twice myself. I checked recently and found that the threshold has been raised, starting from 5,000 points and redeeming it for 50 euros. However, they are all real money.

For our students, possible activities include:

Zahnvorsorge: It is a dental check-up, which can be done every six months and is paid for by the insurance company. It is recommended that everyone do it once a year. There happens to be only one Scheck in the magazine, and remember it has 500 points. First, find a dentist online. There are websites that organize and evaluate doctor information. Choose a doctor and make an appointment. When going for a check-up, go to the doctor and ask for a Bonusheft, which is valid for life. Every check-up must be signed and stamped by the doctor. After five consecutive years, there will be a discount on the dental care premium. Oral health is still very important. We don’t pay much attention to it or feel it at ordinary times. The dentist can tell us which teeth may have problems and need to be dealt with in time. Otherwise, toothache can be fatal. (Tips: The appointment time from the dentist is usually three or four weeks later. It’s okay to just do a check-up. If your tooth hurts terribly, don’t wait for the time the clinic provides you. Just call and say it hurts. No, we strongly urge you to make an emergency appointment.) If you have any problems after the examination, the dentist will make an appointment with you again. Just bring your insurance card. If it is a filling, the doctor will ask you whether you want to use a material covered by insurance, or a better material that you have to pay for yourself.

Schutzimpfung: Vaccination. When I was interning, the company's medical office was holding a flu vaccination event, so I went thinking I could get 500 points. The next day after the injection, I felt like I had a cold. I ran to the doctor again to ask what was going on. The doctor said it was an immune reaction. Sure enough, it was fine on the third day. Maybe the vaccine developed by the Germans is aimed at the strong physique of the Germans and contains too many viruses...

Blutspende: Donate blood. I have never contributed this, and I have not received 500 points. Why? Because a blood donation starts from 500ml... I have donated 200ml in China without any problem. If I want to donate 400ml, I will probably have to lie down for half a day and rest. If I were asked to donate 500ml directly, I might not be able to get out of the blood donation car... Still the same sentence, Germans are physically strong...We Chinese students should take it easy and don't need these 500 points...

Vereinssport oder Fitness-Studio (Hochschulsport): You can accumulate points by taking physical education classes at school or going to the gym. Just ask the teacher to sign and the Physical Education Department to stamp it, and you can accumulate it once every six months. It seems to be 250 points at a time.

Leistungsabzeichen oder Sportwettkampf: sports competition. I participated in a school fun run and got points successfully.

After participating in all these projects, you already have 2,000 points in hand. It doesn’t matter. You can continue to save in the second year. The savings before June 30 will not expire. Get cash back when you reach a certain amount. To speed up the accumulation of points, please see 3.1.2.

In addition, this magazine should be sent to us at the beginning of every year, but the strange thing is that it is not sent to me, but I take the initiative to ask for it.

Starting in 2016, this project has been absorbed into a new points project, but the principle is the same, except that there seems to be no rebate and can only be exchanged for some services. Will update when I have more experience.

3.1.2 Online-Coachings

It’s still too slow to accumulate points just by participating in activities. There is another way to quickly increase points: online courses! You can see this module after logging in to the DAK official website. There are currently four courses to choose from. I finished it one after another and got 4,000 points easily. The course will last for several weeks, just follow the tutorials and learn German and health knowledge, that's great. After completion, the points will be automatically transferred to the points account.
