How does Apple set up interception of overseas phone calls and text messages?
The process of stopping someone can be completed in four different applications, and each application follows similar steps. You don't need to perform this procedure multiple times to block the same number or email in all applications. Block someone in one application and block them in the four applications listed below.

Phone: Find the phone number or contact you want to block in the recently used tab, and then click the "I" button next to this option. Select Block this caller at the bottom of the screen, and then confirm your selection.

FaceTime: Click the "i" next to the contact, phone number or email address you want to block. Scroll to the bottom of the page, click Block this caller and confirm your selection.

Mail: Open the conversation, and then click the contact at the top of the screen. Next, select "I", and then click on the name, phone number or email address. A "Block this caller" button will appear at the bottom of the page. Click and confirm.

Email: Open the email containing the person you want to block, click the email address you want to block, and then select Block this contact.
