How to recharge Octopus card

The ways to recharge the Octopus card are: bank ATM machines, Octopus ATMs, and Octopus service centers.

1. Bank ATMs: Currently, Octopus can be recharged at most bank ATMs in Hong Kong, such as Hang Seng Bank, HSBC Bank, Datong Bank of China, etc. He Shi only needs to put his Octopus into the ATM machine and follow the prompts to complete the recharge. Under normal circumstances, the recharge service time of Datong ATMs is 24 hours.

2. Octopus ATMs (Octopus self-service recharge machines): Octopus ATMs are distributed in major MTR stations, convenience stores, and public places such as airports and shopping malls. Just put your Octopus into the ATM and follow the prompts to complete the top-up. Under normal circumstances, the recharge service hours of ATMs are 7:00-23:00.

3. Octopus Service Center: The Octopus Service Center is a recharge service center provided by the Octopus Company. There are currently 7 service centers in Hong Kong. At the service center, you can recharge via cash, check, credit card, etc. In addition, the service center also provides Octopus card application, replacement, loss reporting, inquiry and other services.

Notes on recharging Octopus

1. Recharge amount: Octopus has a minimum recharge amount and a maximum recharge amount, and can be recharged multiple times.

2. Handling fee: For cash recharge, Octopus service centers and Octopus ATMs do not charge handling fees. Bank ATM machines will charge certain handling fees according to the policies of different banks.

3. Recharge time limit: The recharge time limit for Octopus is 24 hours. If you fail to use the recharge amount within 24 hours after recharging, the recharge amount will be automatically returned to your bank account.

4. Balance inquiry after recharge: After recharge, you can check the balance of your Octopus card through the Octopus Service Center, Octopus ATM, bank ATM, etc.
