1. Apply to the issuing bank for cancellation. There are two ways to apply for card refund:
(1) Go to the counter of the local card issuer to cancel the account through online banking or card holding.
(2) Call the customer service hotline of the issuing bank, complete relevant operations according to the voice prompts, and request the customer service to return the card;
2. Cut off the credit card that has been successfully cancelled: In order to prevent the credit card and personal information from being stolen, remember to cut off the abandoned credit card along the magnetic stripe after the card is successfully cancelled. If the credit card is lost when applying for card cancellation, in order to ensure privacy and safety, it is best to apply for loss reporting first, and then go through the formalities of card cancellation.
3. Pay off all the bills, and be careful not to overflow the balance: Before we cancel the card, we should confirm whether we have paid off all the debts on the current card.
4. Waiting for inspection period: The inspection period of banks is generally 45 days, and some banks may be within three months. After applying for cancellation, the credit card will not be cancelled immediately. Generally, all banks will have a "liquidation period" of 45 days. Some arrears may not appear on the bill when applying for card refund. If you owe money, you need to pay it back. After this time, you can confirm whether your application for cancellation is successful.
