Artificial intelligence applications: computer science, finance, hospitals and medicine, heavy industry, customer service.
1. Computer Science
Artificial intelligence (AI) has produced many ways to solve the most difficult problems of computer science. Many of their inventions have been adopted by mainstream computer science and are not considered part of AI.
2. Finance
Banks use artificial intelligence systems to organize operations, financial investments and manage assets. In August 2001, a robot defeated humans in a simulated financial trading competition. Financial institutions have long used artificial neural network systems to detect changes or out-of-standard requests, and banks use systems to assist customer service; to help reconcile accounts, issue credit cards and recover passwords.
3. Hospitals and medicine
In clinical medicine, artificial intelligence systems can be used to organize hospital bed plans and provide medical information. Artificial neural networks are used to make clinical diagnostic decision support systems. There are also the following potential possibilities for using artificial intelligence in medicine: Computers help analyze medical images. Such systems help scan data images to detect diseases from computed tomograms. A typical application is to find tumors.
4. Heavy industry
Robots have been widely used in industry. They often do jobs that are dangerous to people. Japan is an advanced country in the use and production of robots in the world; in 1999, 1,700,000 robots were used worldwide.
5. Customer service
Artificial intelligence is a good assistant for automatic online operation, which can reduce operations and mainly uses natural language processing systems. Call center answering machines use similar technology, such as speech recognition software to make the computers easier for customers to operate.
