Do you want to convert some RMB assets into US dollar assets? Personally, if you have the spare capacity and conditions, you can change it or change it a little. Unless there are extreme circumstances, a cycle of the exchange rate market will not be as short as that of A shares, and you can go through spring, summer, autumn and winter within one year.
Don't say that each person only has a foreign exchange limit of $50,000 a year. The amount is not large and the impact is not great. The $50,000 for one person and a family of three is $6,543.8+0.5 million, which is equivalent to $6,543.8+0.5 million RMB. If the quota is used up this year, it will be 1 10,000 RMB after New Year's Day, which is not a small amount for ordinary people.
What should I do after converting it into dollars? It doesn't make much sense just to change it into dollars. If you buy wealth management products, the current yield of wealth management products related to Chinese banks is around 2.5%. It doesn't sound high, even lower than RMB short-term wealth management products in the same period. But what if you add the expectation of RMB depreciation? If the RMB depreciates by about 3% in the future, the actual yield of this wealth management product will exceed 5%. At present, this market is still a correct figure.
This is a fairly stable and safe plan, which is most suitable for ordinary investors and working-class people who have no experience in investing in dollars. But for people with investment experience, QDII products are a good choice, that is, domestic investment institutions invest in funds in foreign capital markets. Even when the US dollar appreciates against the RMB, fund managers are lazy and will make money from the perspective of exchange rate (only in theory, because some QDIIs buy funds in foreign markets instead of in the open market, which will lead to double charges).
