How to become a master in the industry?
I'd like to introduce this book, Deliberate Practice, by Anders Millard J. Erickson and Robert Poole. This book is essentially a methodological work, which has been recommended for reading by intellectuals for many times. It took me three months to finish reading this book. Some people may ask, why did it take so long to finish reading it? This is because the book itself is a bit difficult to read, and I only use my spare time to read it. Although it took me three months to finish reading, it took me nearly half a month to sum up the essence of this book. So, now I dare to share my summary and thoughts with you. The methodology of deliberate practice can be divided into the following six steps.

First, clear objectives.

In other words, what kind of ability do you want to improve? The clear goals mentioned here refer to specific goals, not general goals.

Second, subdivide the target.

Find out the industry's standard requirements for this skill, relevant training methods, relevant books and materials left by industry experts and previous experts, and so on. Then study all kinds of psychological representations that reach the master level, and finally train these representations into specific goals of the ultimate goal.

Third, understand the gap and practice deliberately.

Compare the psychological representation of the master with his present representation, and realize the gap with the master. Find out these gaps, design training methods and achieve specific goals. In the process of training, a feedback mechanism should be established: what is right and what is wrong. What is wrong should be adjusted, and what is right needs to be adhered to and become a habit.

Fourth, jump out of the comfort zone for training.

Many people stay in the comfort zone and stop moving at this level. For example, "I can play basketball at this level and I don't need to be a star" and so on. And if you want to improve to the level of master, you must improve the difficulty. It is necessary to design a new training plan to increase the difficulty to just beyond the comfort zone. Only by constantly challenging difficulties in this way can we improve our skills to the level of masters.

Fifth, pay attention to practice.

Put energy and attention into practice completely, that is, complete attention and conscious action. Keep yourself close to the goal, adjust in time, and spend more time practicing deliberately.

Sixth, complete the final summary of specific goals.

In the training process of a specific goal, try more, change the wrong method and stick to the correct method until the expert psychological representation of this specific goal is established. Then train for the next specific goal until all the specific goals are achieved, and you have reached the master level of this skill.

Case study:

I am a product manager, in fact, the thinking and deliberate practice of making products are the same. To make products, we must first analyze the market demand, then develop products and put them into the market, then design a feedback mechanism to get feedback from consumers, and finally iteratively update and grow until we reach a stable sales state. In fact, there are many examples of deliberate practice in life, especially in personal aspects. What should a person do if he wants to get wealth? Firstly, the thinking patterns of the rich are analyzed, and the personal research and understanding of the thinking patterns of the rich are applied to the society to get social feedback, and then they are iteratively updated and adjusted until they reach the state of becoming rich. The same idea can also be used in personal moral cultivation, cultivation and so on.

The core of deliberate practice is the core points of studying and studying this matter in the early stage, then applying it to yourself, getting feedback in practice, and finally perfecting the points until the expected purpose is achieved. I like this book very much. I recommend it to you. I believe it can inspire you.
