1. Brands "destroyed" by Pepsi: Tianfu Coke, Arctic Ocean soda, etc.
Many brands were destroyed by Pepsi through acquisitions, many of which were well-known national brands in China at that time. The most famous brands are Tianfu Coke and Beijing Arctic Ocean soda.
These two enterprises have a long history, both of which were founded before liberation 1936.
Tianfu Coke was in Chongqing, then called Chongqing Meihua Alkali Factory. At that time, Chongqing still belonged to Sichuan Province. 198 1 year jointly developed cola with Sichuan Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Tianfu Coke quickly became popular in China, once occupying 75% of the market in China. It is one of the eight largest beverage manufacturers in China, and was designated as a state banquet beverage by the Bureau of Government Affairs of the State Council.
1994, Tianfu Coke and Pepsi Cola were joint ventures, which soon disappeared. In 2007, Tianfu Coke Group proposed to take back the trademark and formula, but after seven years of litigation, it was not until 20 13 that it was taken back. When 20 16 came back, Tianfu coke had disappeared for 20 years.
The predecessor of the Arctic Ocean was Beiping Ice Factory, which was a joint venture with PepsiCo in the same year as Tianfu Coke and stopped production a few years later.
Also in 2007, Beijing proposed to take back the trademark. Although there was no lawsuit like Tianfu Coke, the other party put forward the condition that carbonated drinks should not be made within 4 years. It was not until 20 1 1 that the Arctic Ocean returned to the market, and the time has disappeared 15 years.
Until now, neither brand has reproduced the grand occasion of that year.
Pepsi-Cola "killed" Shashi soda in Guangdong in a similar way. Its manufacturer, Asia Soda Factory, was established in 1946, which is an old-fashioned beverage in Guangzhou. Shashi soda was once known as "the best soda in the world" and won the 1985 China Best Sports Drink Award.
Shashi Soda 1993 was acquired by PepsiCo and recovered in 2002. Now, do you have soda?
2. Brands "destroyed" by Coca-Cola: Laoshan Coke, Shanhaiguan Soda, etc.
There are also many brands that have been "destroyed" by Coca-Cola, the most famous of which is Laoshan Coke.
Laoshan Coke once produced the first bottle of carbonated beverage in China, located in Qingdao, Shandong Province, which once occupied 80% of Qingdao's market and about 20% of the national market.
In the 1990s, Laoshan Coke was acquired by Coca-Cola, and production stopped soon. It was taken back in 2004 and returned to the market, but like Tianfu Coke, it was difficult to regain courage.
Another national brand destroyed by Coca-Cola-"Bawang Temple" soda has a longer history.
Founded in 1920, Shenyang Bawangsi Beverage Co., Ltd. is the largest soda production plant in the north of China, founded by Zhang Huilin, a national capitalist. There is a word difference. I don't know if this has anything to do with Zhang.
Bawangsi soft drink 1993 was acquired by Coca-Cola. At that time, six beverage enterprises in Northeast China were successively acquired by Coca-Cola, so there was a saying that the "seven armies flooded" in Northeast China. Two years later, "Bawang IV" soda was hidden in the snow, and it took 10 years to recover the brand.
The history of Bawangsi soda ash is longer than that of Wuhan No.2 Factory, which was established in 19 18.
1990, the soda of Wuhan No.2 Factory was acquired by Coca-Cola, and soon its soda gradually disappeared, and it was completely shut down around 2000. 20 17 Wuhan ersoda reappears in the market.
I can't believe that there is an earlier beverage in China than the soda in Wuhan No.2 Factory, that is "Shanhaiguan soda".
Shanhaiguan soda 1902 was founded in Tianjin by the British and once occupied the Tianjin market. As we all know, in China in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, the position of Kinmen once far surpassed that of Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Shanhaiguan soda factory had a joint venture with Coca-Cola as early as 1986, which was probably the first beverage enterprise in China to be won by a foreign giant, and its fate was even more tragic. Shanhaiguan soda then gradually withdrew from the market, and it was already 20 14 when it came back.
Wahaha resisted, and a few people survived.
Besides Pepsi and Coca-Cola, Danone has also destroyed many national brands in China.
Robust is probably the most famous brand destroyed by Danone and the most famous negative textbook acquired by foreign capital.
In 1990s, Robust's AD calcium milk and purified water swept the country, and its "every drop of water was purified by 27 layers" became the classic advertising slogan of that era. In 2000, Robust was acquired by Danone of France. At first, it operated independently. Soon, the team including founder He Boquan left, and Robust was soon marginalized until it disappeared.
On October 20 1 16 10, Danone sold Robust to Yingtou Holdings, another China enterprise located in Shenzhen. Shortly thereafter, Robust reappeared after a lapse of 10 years.
However, one company once strongly resisted Danone and finally saved itself.
