(1) Soda: It belongs to salt. Sodium carbonate containing decahydrate is colorless crystal, unstable and easily weathered. It turns into white powder Na2CO3, which is a strong electrolyte with universality and thermal stability of salt, easy to dissolve in water, and the aqueous solution is alkaline.
(2) Caustic soda: It is a highly corrosive alkali, generally in flake or granular form, easily soluble in water (it releases heat when dissolved in water) and forms an alkaline solution, easily deliquescent and easily absorbs water vapor in the air.
Related information:
There are two methods for industrial production of sodium hydroxide: causticization and electrolysis. Soda causticization can be divided into soda causticization and natural causticization according to different raw materials. Electrolysis method can be divided into diaphragm electrolysis method and ion exchange membrane method. ?
Staff should be well protected. In case of accidental contact with skin and eyes, rinse with plenty of water immediately. The working environment should be well ventilated. Sodium hydroxide aqueous solution has a satiny feeling, and when it is dissolved in water, it produces high heat. Wear protective eyepiece and rubber gloves when operating, and be careful not to splash on skin or eyes.
