Can futures be sold all the time?
Futures cannot be held and not sold all the time, because futures have a "term", which refers to the last trading day or the last delivery day or delivery month of futures. Individual investors can only hold futures contracts for a certain month until the last day, and will be forced to close their positions by the exchange after the change time.
For individual investors, different exchanges have different provisions on the holding period:
1 Dashangsuo and Zhengshangsuo: Individual customers are not allowed to enter the delivery month. If they still hold positions in the delivery month, they will be forced to close their positions.
The last issue: individual customers can hold positions until the last trading day, but there are restrictions on holding positions.
3 CICC: Individual investors can hold positions until the last trading day, and there is no position limit.
In futures, trading and delivery are two concepts. Trading refers to the sale of futures contracts, and delivery refers to the sale of futures underlying assets. The last trading day of stock index futures is the same as the last delivery day, but the last delivery day of other futures is after the last trading day.
