Commodity futures is the original variety of futures trading, which originated from spot trading of agricultural products. In international trade, due to the seasonal production characteristics of agricultural products, when the harvest season comes, farmers and traders are faced with the risk of price fluctuation.
In order to avoid risks, commodity futures trading began in the forward market. At first, commodity futures included agricultural products such as wheat, corn and soybeans. With the development of economy and the expansion of market, there are more and more kinds of commodity futures, including futures of metals, energy and chemical products.
