It was decided to blow up the dam at the northern end of the dam to release the flood, resulting in a loss of 170,000 yuan. At the end of the year, the Yutan Workers' Club, railway, and power supply machine repairs were completed one after another. The first batch of official products were produced, and Soviet experts came to the mine to guide the work.

On October 5, the Mid-Autumn Festival, more than 290 people were seriously poisoned by arsenic in the canteen of the mining site. After all-out rescue efforts, no one died in the end.
In 1961, a fire broke out in the single dormitory in Xiaoganghe, Dingfan, burning down 12 dormitory buildings, killing one person and causing losses of 382,000.
