Is there a car number limit on New Year's Day?
There is no limit on the number of vehicles during New Year's Day. Taking Beijing as an example, the Beijing Municipal Government decided to continue to implement regional traffic management measures during peak hours of working days (except for working on Saturdays and Sundays due to legal holidays) from June/KLOC-0 to April 4, 2026.

Traffic management measures to limit the number of vehicles according to the license plate number during the peak hours of working days in Beijing. The time limit is from 7: 00 to 20: 00, and the range is within the Fifth Ring Road (excluding the Fifth Ring Road).

The following motor vehicles are not restricted:

(1) Police cars, fire engines, ambulances and engineering rescue vehicles;

(II) Buses, inter-provincial long-distance passenger vehicles and buses, Beijing B-section number plate taxis (excluding rental vehicles), special postal vehicles, vehicles with tourist bus operation certificates issued by the municipal traffic administrative department, and unit buses and school buses approved by the municipal public security traffic administrative department;

(three) administrative law enforcement vehicles and special vehicles for removing obstacles that spray uniform signs and perform official duties;

(four) special vehicles for sanitation, gardening, road maintenance and emergency communication support, and funeral vehicles for funeral homes;

(five) vehicles with the prefix number plate and vehicles allowed to enter the country temporarily;

(6) Pure electric passenger cars (motor-driven passenger cars with rechargeable batteries as the only power source).
