Brief introduction of Taierzhuang triumph

The battle of Taierzhuang took place in the middle of March of 1938 and lasted for one month. It was the biggest victory in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression after the Battle of the Great Wall and the Battle of Pingxingguan, and it was also a major victory of the Japanese army in the Battle of Xuzhou.

After the Japanese invaders successively occupied Nanjing and Jinan on February 3, February 27, 1937 and 17, in order to connect the north and south battlefields, occupy Wuhan, the central city of China's Anti-Japanese War, and quickly realize the invasion plan of destroying China, they decided to mobilize the so-called "Iron Army" divisions such as Ji Gu and Banyuan to attack Xuzhou from the southern section and the northern section of the Jinpu line respectively. General Li Zongren, commander of the fifth war zone in Xuzhou, made the battle plan of Taierzhuang, and the armed forces under the leadership of China also actively marched behind the enemy lines, opened up guerrilla warfare behind the enemy lines, established anti-Japanese base areas behind the enemy lines, and closely cooperated with the frontal battlefield operations.

On March 22nd, in order to defend Xuzhou, Li Zongren ordered the commander-in-chief of the 2nd Army, Sun Lianzhong, to head for Taierzhuang, and the Japanese army attacked crazily under the cover of planes, artillery and tanks. The fierce tug-of-war turned Taierzhuang into a sea of fire, with corpses everywhere, and even the canal water was dyed red. On April 3rd, General Li Zongren commanded the 20th Army Corps to join forces with Tang and Sun Lianzhong, forming a situation of attacking Taierzhuang from both inside and outside and launching an all-out attack. On April 7, deus ex, the garrison of China in Taierzhuang, kept pace with the peripheral forces and pursued northward, beating the enemy all the way. After more than 20 days of bloody fighting, China's army finally achieved a "great victory in Taierzhuang" that shocked China and foreign countries!

This campaign wiped out more than 20,000 elite Japanese troops, dealt a blow to the arrogance of the Japanese aggressors, strengthened the confidence of the military and civilians throughout the country in persisting in the war of resistance, and inspired the morale of the whole nation. Taierzhuang is therefore known as "the unyielding land of the Chinese nation". ?
