Specifically, as a mineral resource product, except for some coal enterprises with serious debt problems, the actual comprehensive cost is generally within 300 yuan/ton, and some high-quality enterprises can reach 200 yuan/ton. Because more than 80% of domestic coal consumption is mainly used as fuel, there are no more high value-added products after its output, but it is sold directly after washing. Its actual comprehensive cost is relatively low and its own profit rate is relatively high. After the recent price control, the profit rate of coal enterprises is still at a high level, far ahead compared with other industries. Therefore, recently, the National Development and Reform Commission organized a symposium on ensuring supply and stabilizing prices for key enterprises of coal, electricity, oil and gas transportation, emphasizing the severe investigation and punishment of malicious speculation of thermal coal futures by capital, going to several ports to supervise the stable price of coal supply, conducting the cost and price of coal production and circulation, and investigating and releasing coal-related rumor information. Affected by this, domestic coal prices dropped significantly, and market rationality returned, so coal prices fell.
In short, the price of coal itself is profitable. For the sake of energy security, reasonable regulation and reduction of coal prices will help to ensure energy security and people's warm winter.
