Release of major events: such as performance announcement of listed companies, clarification of major impact matters, shareholders' meeting, share reform, asset restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, etc. , which will cause Hong Kong stocks to be suspended.
Abnormal fluctuation of stock price: when the trend of stock price continues to show abnormal fluctuation, for example, the deviation of daily closing price reaches 20% for three consecutive trading days, and trading is suspended 1 hour. It is expected to resume trading on the same day 10: 30.
Company's own reasons: listed companies will be suspended from listing if they have illegal transactions or false performance.
1. Shares cannot be traded after suspension, and can only be purchased after resumption. Suspension of trading is also called "stopping the listing of securities". A stock exchange shall conduct regular or irregular audits or reviews of the securities listed in this exchange. If it is found that a listed security is not suitable for further listing, the Exchange may issue a Notice of Stopping Listing of Securities to suspend its listing.
If you particularly like this stock, you can continue to pay attention to it and wait for the resumption of trading before buying it. There is usually a specific time to stop the listing of securities. After the reasons for suspending the listing of securities are eliminated, the Exchange will issue a Notice of Resumption of Listing to resume its listing. If the reasons for the suspension of securities have not been eliminated after the expiration of the suspension period, it is usually necessary to terminate its listing. The suspension and resumption of trading of listed securities shall be reported to the competent authority for the record and announced by the exchange. Different stock exchanges have different suspension situations.
In principle, the suspension time of stock reorganization shall not exceed 3 months. It is pointed out in the "Guidelines for Listed Companies to Stop and Resume Trading on Major Events" that, in principle, if a major asset restructuring is planned, the suspension time shall not exceed 3 months, and if the restructuring is continued after the suspension, the suspension time shall not exceed 5 months; Planning a non-public offering shall not exceed 1 month in principle.
2. How long will the suspension of Hong Kong stocks resume?
In order to prevent listed companies from suspending trading at will or Hong Kong stocks from being suspended for too long, listed companies that have not resumed trading after the specified time need to resume trading, that is, resume trading.
If the trading of Hong Kong stocks is suspended for 6 months or more, the listed company needs to submit a proposal for resumption of trading to the Exchange within 6 months. If a feasible resumption plan is not submitted within the time limit, the listing status of the listed company shall be cancelled.
