In the Tang Dynasty, people found that Ejiao boiled with donkey skin had better medicinal effect, so they changed cowhide into donkey skin, which has been used ever since. The main raw material for making Ejiao is donkey skin, and there are more than a dozen accessories such as rock sugar, Shaoxing wine and soybean oil. It is made from well water containing various minerals peculiar to Dong 'a by traditional production technology. The production cycle is long, and the process requirements are strict. It can only be completed after more than ten processes such as material selection, water washing, peeling, refining, cutting and drying. Ejiao is a neat rectangular block, usually about 8.5 cm long and 3.7 cm wide, about 0. 7- 1.5 cm. The surface is brownish black or blackish, smooth and shiny, slightly transparent to light, firm and brittle, and the cross section is brownish black or blackish, without fishy smell, especially Xia Hou is not soft. Modern scientific analysis shows that Ejiao contains 19 amino acids necessary for human body. Ejiao is sweet and has the functions of enriching blood, stopping bleeding, nourishing yin and moistening lung. Recent research shows that it can promote the production of red blood cells and hemoglobin; It has obvious hemostatic effect, which is related to improving the balance of calcium in the body, promoting the absorption of calcium and slightly increasing serum calcium. Animal experiments of Ejiao liquid show that it can raise blood pressure, resist traumatic shock and prevent progressive muscular dystrophy. Colla Corii Asini contains gelatin and bone collagen, which produces lysine, arginine, histidine and cystine after hydrolysis, and contains calcium and sulfur. Therefore, Ejiao is also regarded as a nourishing product by modern people. The groundwater in Dong 'e, Shandong Province is unique in quality and pure in substance. Traditional Chinese medicine pays attention to "authenticity", as Li Shizhen said in Compendium of Materia Medica, "It's not bad to fry a donkey skin with well water. Real people don't stink, and Xia Yue is not wet and soft. " Although the donkey can tell at a glance, it is a "foreign guest", not a native of China. Among them, the black donkey comes from Sinai Peninsula in Arabian Peninsula, and the brown donkey comes from Mexico in America. The former settled in China during the Wei and Jin Dynasties, and the latter arrived by boat in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties (see Volume 10 of Clearing Banknotes above). Therefore, Li Shizhen recorded in Compendium of Materia Medica that Ejiao is taken from donkey skin, Niu Pijiao is called yellow gelatin, and other skins are not allowed to enter medicine. Dong 'e Ejiao can be taken in many ways, with different uses and eating methods. As a medicine, in addition to following the doctor's advice, according to the symptoms, the commonly used methods are: 1, cough. Take Dong 'e Ejiao, honey and eggs together, and stew Dong 'e Ejiao properly, once a day, one egg and one spoonful of honey, and the effect is good; 2, excessive bleeding, you can use 500 grams of Dong' e Ejiao, add 400 ml of water, add rock sugar after stewing, steam 1 hour, then freeze, take a spoonful every day; 3.
