Ferronickel is a nickel-iron alloy with a nickel content of 20%-60%. The melting point of ferronickel is 1430- 1480 degrees, and the density is 8. 1-8.4. The main components of ferronickel are nickel and iron, and iron alloy containing a small amount of cobalt. The fracture of ore is serrated, which is not common. It is a massive or granular aggregate, with iron gray, dark gray or black, striped iron gray and opaque, and the fresh surface has metallic luster. Ferronickel also contains impurities such as carbon, silicon, sulfur, phosphorus, chromium and copper. Mainly used as nickel additive for steelmaking and cast iron.
