Introduction of Shanghai Stock Exchange Index:
Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Stock Index (referred to as Shanghai Stock Exchange Index, Shanghai Composite Index, Shanghai Composite Index or Shanghai Composite Index) is a statistical index in China that reflects the overall trend of listed stocks in Shanghai Stock Exchange. The Shanghai Composite Index was originally compiled by Jing 'an Securities Business Department of China Industrial and Commercial Bank Shanghai Branch Trust and Investment Company according to the actual situation of Shanghai stock market and referring to the generation method of foreign stock price indicators, and was publicly released on July 15, 1991. On February 21, 1992, the Shanghai A-share index and the Shanghai B-share index were added, and on June 1, 1993, the Shanghai sub-index was added, namely, industrial index, commercial index, real estate index, public utility index and comprehensive industry index, to reflect the respective trends of stocks in different industries.
The release of the new Shanghai Composite Index is based on December 3, 25, and the base period is the total market value of all sample stocks on that day, with a base point of 1, points. The new Shanghai Composite Index is referred to as the "New Composite Index" and the index code is 17.
The "New Shanghai Composite Index" is currently composed of all G shares in Shanghai Stock Exchange. Since then, the stocks that implemented the share-trading reform have been included in the index on the second trading day after the implementation of the plan. The index is weighted by the total share capital.
