What types of FOF funds are there?

FOF is a fund in the fund, which can be classified in many ways. For example, according to the type of assets invested, it can be divided into partial stock FOF, partial debt FOF, currency FOF and mixed FOF.

FOF(FundofFunds) refers to the funds in the fund. According to relevant regulations, if more than 80% of fund assets are invested in other fund shares, it is a fund in the fund. According to the different investment targets and investment directions of the fund, FOF product categories are further subdivided, specifically:

(1) stock FOF. More than 80% of fund assets are invested in stock fund shares (including stock index).

(2) Bond FOF, more than 80% of fund assets are invested in bond fund shares (including bond index funds).

(3) Currency FOF, more than 80% of the fund assets are invested in money market funds, and the investment scope and requirements of the remaining fund assets should be consistent with the money market funds.

(4) Mixed FOF that invests in stock fund shares, bond fund shares, money market fund shares and other fund shares and does not meet the relevant requirements of stock funds, bond funds and money funds.

(5) Other types of FOF, that is, FOF invests more than 80% of fund assets in other types of funds. For example, if FOF invests more than 80% of the fund assets in commodity futures funds, the fund belongs to commodity futures funds.

Another method is divided into management FOF and configuration FOF according to the management mode. The so-called managed FOF means that the income of products mainly comes from the active investment management of various funds by fund managers, and the so-called configured FOF means that the main income of products comes from funds invested in various assets according to contracts. Obviously, the managed FOF is an active management product, while the configured FOF is a passive management product.
