2. The difference between criminal investigation and economic investigation lies in:

In the public security system, the direction and responsibility are different. Article 3 The principle of functions and powers of the Criminal Procedure Law strictly follows the principle of legal procedure. Public security organs are responsible for the investigation, detention, execution and pre-trial of criminal cases. The People's Procuratorate is responsible for the prosecution, approval of arrest, investigation and prosecution of directly accepted cases. The people are responsible for the trial. Except as otherwise specified by law, no other organ, organization or individual has the right to exercise these powers. The people, people's procuratorates and public security organs must strictly abide by the relevant provisions of this law and other laws when conducting criminal proceedings.

Criminal investigation refers to the investigation activities carried out by the relevant personnel on the alleged criminal acts in order to find out the case and collect evidence. Investigation is also a legal procedure in criminal proceedings. According to China's Criminal Procedure Law, investigation refers to the special investigation and related compulsory measures conducted by public security organs and people's procuratorates in the process of handling cases.
