1, scientific spirit as Chen Yinque said: "Independent spirit, free thought." The Confucian culture in China's history integrated scholars and doctors, and did not really form an independent and free taxi group. In 1980s, academic circles, especially economic and political elites, reached a * * * understanding of China's economic reform, and scholars entered the system from this, and their research tended to be policy-oriented. In recent years, many scholars complained that they were excluded from the system and the government did not fully listen to their opinions when making major decisions. I think the 1980s was a special period. Under normal circumstances, the government and academic circles should be independent of each other and interact positively. Scholars should have a sense of social responsibility and critical spirit. The government should follow scientific and democratic decision-making procedures and be more inclusive.
2. Openness and tolerance are the culture that academic research should advocate. Openness means emancipating the mind, breaking the shackles of various ideologies and traditional concepts, and being "not only superior, not only books, but only practical" (Chen Yun). Tolerance means not being blinded by your own views and treating different views rationally. The process of research is also a process of learning, communicating, comparing and thinking. Only an open and inclusive culture can carry forward the scientific spirit.
