Dr Tang Xinyuan was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu, China and grew up in Shanghai. 65438-0936 went to the United States to study for a master's degree, and then returned to China as the director of Xiexin Wool Mill, professor and vice president of China Textile University, Shanghai Textile Institute and China Textile Institute. 1949 went to the United States for further study and obtained a doctorate. After that, he worked as the chief engineer at the Houston Space Center, where he was the only China resident.

From Mercury, Gemini, Apollo to today's space shuttle, the spacesuits used by the United States in various stages of space development in the past 30 years came from Tang Xinyuan, and even the spacesuits needed for the future space station were designed in advance before he retired. When solving the problem of astronauts urinating, Tang Xinyuan invented a diaper that can absorb 1400 ml of water, which was later moved to civilian use.

From 65438 to 0987, Dr. Tang Xinyuan, the inventor of spacesuit, was awarded the highest honor "Special Engineering Achievement" medal by the US government and the highest honor "Aerospace Technology Hall of Fame" medal by the American Aerospace Foundation. The 78-year-old Tang Xinyuan chose to retire gloriously on the eve of the 25th anniversary of human landing on the moon, and was only allowed after his repeated requests.
